All this talk about free agents or trades is great, but why are we not hearing more about what is being done on the GM position. Just a thought, this to me would seem to be a place that a lot of GMs' would love to work. Does anyone feel as I do that the way the KP situation went down that it is making some nervous about the job there fore making it hard to get a quality man for the Blazers

Really? There have been updates daily out there. Ferry has already interviewed for the position and Randy Pfrund either has interviewed or is going to. And now, it appears Kiki Vandeweghe(sp?) is in the race as well.

We heard all that over a week ago nothing new. The main part of my thread was the second part. any thoughts on that or do you think those are quality guys? I do, but not maybe not the best.

Outside of a select few GM's, I don't know either who is considered good, average, or meh. I do know that we have some of the best scouts in the business, which should make any incoming GM's job that much easier.

They wont find another KP, whether he was perfect or not.
I agree that things seem all out of sorts with the Blazers right now.

Fellas...do I even have to say it again?!  Randy Pfund.  The longer this thing drags out, the more his credentials put him above the rest.  In fact, I would go as far as to suggest that because we are entering the 11th hour, he may be the ONLY candidate that has the tools and connections to step in and get something accomplished before "the ship sails".  That said, I'm not sure that the BIG move that everyone is anticipating NEEDS to be made anytime soon.  Depends on the front office and their objective(s).  We don't have the necessary cap space to create alot of noise right now.  Our noise, if we are to make any, will be made via trade(s)...which obviously can occur anytime before the deadline.  Alot of dynamics in play here, at least some of which we are NOT aware of.  Smaller pieces to the roster puzzle can, and will likely be added before a GM is in place...the use of the MLE for example.  I would agree with ClydeFrog, in that our scouts ARE some of the best in the business.  Going to be a very interesting summer!!

A couple of sidenotes:  1)curious that Beasley's name has come up as possibly coming to Portland.  Our interest in him suggests something brewing on the horizon, 2)Hawes: excellent job with the spelling of Vandeweghe, however check your SP on Pfund...LOL!  Trust me when I say that I'm not one to talk!

First of all Pfund and Kiki were names the media kicked around a week ago, the Blazers only started talking about it like two days ago. I still think Kiki is going to be a "no" unless he hires himself a new agent. He is managed by the same sleezeball that managed KP and I have little doubt that is why he has been to as many teems as he has (Kiki that is). I think Pfund is at the top of everyone's list outside of the organization, but it still sounds like the Blazers want to extend an offer to Ferry and are interviewing to appear less desperate. I still think the news of the day is KP rubbing elbows with New Jersey. I hope to hear the word "pritchslap" in a new Jay-Z single.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
