RUMOR: Heat Want Both Rudy & Andre

     As a possible contingency plan if they don’t get James, the Heat are planning to pursue the Portland Trail Blazers’ Andre Miller(notes) in a trade to play point guard for the team, a source said. The Heat could absorb Miller’s salary into their cap space. The Heat have had trade conversations since before the draft about sending point guard Mario Chalmers(notes) and a first-round pick to Portland for shooting guard Rudy Fernandez(notes), according to a source. It’s possible the talks have now expanded with Heat forward Michael Beasley(notes) and Miller.
    So it'd be Rudy + Dre for Chalmers, Beasley, and a pick

    This has potential to be a boom or bust trade. Although, the one thing I don't like about it is the fact we don't consolidate talent at all and it still leaves our roster jam packed. I know many do not like the idea of Mike on this team because he doesn't fit into the culture here. But I think we are far enough separated from the Jail Blazers past, that we can now take a chance on troubled players and give them another chance. I think a change in scenery would do wonders for MB. Also, if you get the 08-09 Chalmers, then its really tempting, because he has great defensive prowess and can shoot a little bit.

    If it were up to me, Chalmers would already have been a Blazer, instead of Bayless. 
     I would trade Rudy for him in a heartbeat. Chalmers would make me feel better about not getting Blake. Great defender and can hit an outside shot under pressure.
      I want no part of Beasley, or to give up Dre.

    The only question I would have is how similar is Williams to Chalmers, and how long is Williams really out because he bumped knees? That subject is on my last nerve.....

    Williams is capable of playing now. They are just holding him out for precautionary reasons. While Chalmers for Rudy is a good deal, it'd give us 5 point guards now. There's got to be something else in the works. I've wanted Beasley for a while. If he goes to a team with a strong culture already instilled, he will thrive. Mark it down.

    With Rudy for Chalmers, I would move Bayless and Roy from your pg list to sg. Miller and Chalmers at pg, I'm not sure who the 5th one is you refer to, Mills is history imo, but I think this rumor is old anyway.
    Why not tease me with Chalmers after everything else this month ;)

    Williams I guess would be the 5th ?  
    He could play either, just like Roy, Bayless, and Chalmers.

    It sounds like a bust of a deal to me. D-Wade elevated every player on that team and these players were still mediocre. No thanks. The Blazers could get a lot better offers for those two.

    Oh, by the way, the pick that would be dealt to the Trail Blazers is NOT Miami's, rather it would be Toronto's, so that could be a sweet pick in due time.

    Johnson doesnt even count to me, like Mills   I see the same future for him at this point under Nate.
