No link, but Blazer fans who live in Chicago are hearing on the radio waves that the Blazers and Bulls are talking about a Deng for Bayles/Przybilla swap. On paper, it's a good deal for the Blazers, but unless there is another trade lined up where Batum is leaving (because there are NOT enough mins for Luol and Nico), this rumor makes NO sense. Deng also is not a good outside shooter so something else would have to be in the mix....seems like there is a rumor every other minute! What do you guys think?

If this trade were to materialize I would think we have a follow up trade involving Batum.  Heres to life still being left in the trade rumor for CP3.

No thanks, I'll take Nicolas any day of the week. Much younger and already better.

Never mind about the "much" younger comment. I thought Luol was in his upper 20s for some reason.

WHat about trying to acquire Scola and/or Ariza? Honestly those would be great fits. Give Houston Batum, Bayless and Rudy.

Why on earth are you suggesting we get rid of Batum? Him and Roy should be the only untouchable Blazers we have imo. Batum is like 22 and already amazing and only getting better. GREAT defender, can shoot, and get to the rim... If we ever got rid of Nicolas, It'd be the second worst decision in franchise history (of course Bowie over Jordan is and always will be number one).

Deng is a great player and all but this doesn't jive with the rest of the Bulls talk with Wade intrerested in signing there and all that...having Rose, Wade, and Bayless puts him in the same spot that hes in in Portland.

See, this doesn't make sense at all. We traded away Martell Webster for a rookie replacement...seemingly that move was to give Batum the bulk of the SF minutes. Adding Deng does not add up. Smoke screen.

bayless coming off the bench behind wade and rose would be huge...but this is probably just talk because all of chicago is convinced they are going to get wade and lebron. lebron's going to disappoint everyone but ohio and stay in cleveland...and never win a championship.

Ariza's good, but Nic IMO is going to be better. Scola is not going to help us out because we all know Aldridge is better and also a lot younger. Rudy, Pryzbilla and a pick for Ray Allen.

And waste 14 million in expiring contracts in this environment? I think you'd have to be aggressive this offseason, exhausting your options through trade that involve that 14 million.

Andre is leaving because he has a team option next off-season. Essentially he is an expiring 7 million next season. Combine him with Joel that's 14 million off the books for a rebuilding team.

This rumor is garbage, if this is a valid trade for portland is truly dumb. Batum is our 3 strong forward. I think a trade involving Rudy, and Miller for Tony Parker. We should look at our current roster people our 3 position is solid thats why we moved Martell. We want Nic to get more minutes and develop his scoring more. Our frontline though needs a lil meat. We don't know what Oden will be like next year, so adding a combo forward similar to what Juwan gave us would be a great idea with our mid-level we got from trading Martel, and waiving Gomes. A guy like Joe Smith, or Brad Miller would be that veteran guy we could add that could backup, or come off the bench in foul situation with Camby, LA, or Oden that would scare teams still. Don't fall asleep fans, we will see some moves.

Looks like this rumor has way more steam that I thought. You know the saying is, if the media gets a hold of a rumor, it's either dead or about to go down. Let's hope its the former and not the latter.

Check out this CSN Chicago link to here more about it-

Its great value, but dealing Joel takes away a huge piece to throw at NO for Paul, Bayless is the type of player we need on this team, Deng and Batum need more than 24 minutes a piece, and finally, Luol can't shoot from 3!

No, but what it does possibly do is make sacrificing Batum to New Orleans a little bit of a less jagged pill. Granted, it would still suck, and Portland would undoubtedly have to go Miller, Fernandez, Batum and someone else in order to get it done. Paul already said though that he didn't want to come here unless both LA and Roy were here so, who knows what's happening. It also might be that Deng and someone else would actually end up in New Orleans and Portland would have to swallow some bad contracts, but Paul Allen has the ability to do that.

The new rumor has Detroit being added in the mix, sending Rip to Chicago (from ESPN 1000 in Chicago)-
Chi/Por/Det trade discussed on ESPN 1000

rumored por/chi deal has added Detroit now with Deng to portland, Pryz/Bayless to Det and Rip Hamilton coming here. (My edit, "here" is to CHI)

I'm just curious as to how this makes Portland better? I can see where Chicago gets an upgrade, I can see Detroit giving up an aging veteran for some cap space in a rebuilding process, but what does this do for Portland (other than give them more trade commodities)? This smells like burning sulfur (fishy smelling smoke).
