Looks like we will not be getting Mr. Blake back... He is now a LAKER.

(for those of you that were hoping we would get him back)  I'm still happy that we acquired Camby in that trade.

    From Woj-

WojYahooNBA Steve Blake could've signed for more money elsewhere, but wisely chases ring with Lakers at 4 years for $16 million. Shrewd signing for L.A.
Wow, I was upset at Kersey for the longest time when he signed with the Lakers in the mid-90's & Jerome is one of my fv all-time Blazers. I don't fault him for wanting to win, but man, there were other situations out there to succeed. It's a cardinal sin to be a big part of the Blazers then jettison to the Lakers. I expect a less than stellar reaction from the home fans when he makes his return to the RG.

I with you DH - this is just sad - it will be interesting to see how the fans react to him at the RG. Can't blame him for wanting to win, but sheesh! Does anyone remember when John Starks was traded to the Bulls? He refused to play for them - though there might have been other issues too. Do you think a L*ker would ever play for Boston??

I don't blame Blake.  Our front office sucks.  He isn't out for the money he just wants to win. Losing a classy guy like that should make us realize we need to get our house in order.  We don't deserve loyalty from players when our front office doesn't care as much as the Lakers.

Pretty disappointed in Blake for choosing the Lakers, probably be more of a grumbling than straight booing from the RG fans, not the kind of reaction I want to give Blakey when he returns but...the Lakers? really?

Hope you get that ring dude.

That's a awesome move for the Lakers and Steve Blake alike. All of his weaknesses are pretty much nullified in the triangle offense, because he really doesn't need to do much at all besides catch and shoot. Perfect fit. He's going to do great there! See you in the finals Blake, and God I hope you choke like you did with us in that series against Houston.

You cant be dissapointed with the guy (just for the record he was my favorite Blazer). He's going to the defending champs. He wants to win a ring so he went to the best possible situation. Good for him. Im glad he's there so when the Lakers likely get back to the finals next year and win again (because we all know the NBA and stern want to see a lebron-kobe final next year) Blake can get a shot at a ring.

Too many Blazer fans are more interested in hating the Lakers than actually winning.  FYI ... Laker fans love to read and listen to laker haters.  Like Dr. Buss said after they won, the "Beat L.A." chant motivates us.  We have a bunch of knuckleheads in our front office  - - we need to use the lakers blueprint as our model.  If we won we wouldn't care about hating the lakers, it's just a way to divert the true anger that should be with our management.

Now it appears the Lakers want Derek Fisher to take a pay cut...

The Lakers want Derek Fisher to agree to a pay cut in order to return to Los Angeles.

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports writes that the Lakers reportedly want Fisher to take a one-year deal worth as little as $2.5 million.

The Los Angeles Times has reported that Fisher wants a two-year, $10 million deal.

The Lakers have agreed on a four-year, $16 million deal with Steve Blake last week.

    Read more: HERE
Blake is a nice addition, but if they tick off Fisher and lose Brown and Farmar, their backcourt is looking WEAK!

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
