Found some goodies already from Yahoo!-

Richard Jefferson’s decision to opt out of the final $15 million season of his contract might not be a sign he’s willing to leave the San Antonio Spurs.

Sources said Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has been personally working out Jefferson in San Antonio. The free-agent forward could re-sign with the team at a number that lowers the franchise’s luxury-tax hit while guaranteeing him more money on the back end of a multiyear contract.

New Jersey and Minnesota are the favorites for Memphis Grizzlies’ restricted free agent Rudy Gay.
Washington sharpshooter Mike Miller is generating significant interest and league executives expect him to command a multiyear contract with a starting salary greater than the midlevel exception. He’s expected to meet with the Knicks coaching staff in Los Angeles shortly after free agency begins.

Wow Knicks, from LeBron and Wade to Mike Miller

    Another interesting signing from Yahoo!-

Drew Gooden(notes) has reached agreement on a five-year, $32 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
If this is what the MLE is going for these days, then its time to start lowering those expectations for a nice free agent. Are the Bucks trying to obtain every mediocre player in the league? First Maggs, now Gooden...

Here's lots of information from Chad Ford-

LeBron James is the No. 1 target but per his request, he didn't take any meetings last night.

He got things kicked off this morning in Akron with the New Jersey Nets. Led by new owner Mikhail Prokhorov and part-owner Jay Z, the Nets should have the flashiest presentation of the week. The Nets are surprisingly confident that LeBron will choose them after 'Bron spent the weekend in New York hanging out with Jay Z. The team does offer a veteran coach, a former All-Star at the point, a future All-Star in the middle and a lot of young talent.

The Knicks also get to see LeBron on Thursday and are planning a huge presentation as well. GM Donnie Walsh, who is still recovering from neck surgery, will be in attendence. Expect head coach Mike D'Antoni to lead the pitch for the Knicks. He's the one with a relationship with LeBron and he hold the keys to LeBron accepting an offer from New York -- style of play. Of all the teams vying for LeBron, D'Antoni is the one who has the clearest vision of what to do with LeBron on the court and what players he needs to be surrounded by.

On Friday the Heat and the Clippers get their pitch. Saturday it's the Bulls and Cavs. If I were you, I'd read some significance into the Bulls and Cavs getting the last pitch. Multiple sources continue to believe that LeBron is still leaning toward Chicago and Cleveland at the moment.

The Nets are also pursuing plan B today as well. After meeting with LeBron in Akron, they are heading to Chicago this afternoon for a sit down with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. The team also is taking a very aggressive approach toward Grizzlies free agent Rudy Gay. If LeBron says no to the Nets, sources say they will make a big offer to Gay. The Nets biggest need is at small forward. If the team can't land LeBron or Gay, look for them to go back to the Pacers and a potential Danny Granger for Devin Harris and Derrick Favors deal.

Jazz free agent Carlos Boozer was bombarded with calls last night. The Jazz, Bulls, Heat, Nets and Knicks all made their calls. The Nets and Heat are considered the front runners for Boozer as far as teams with cap space go. But don't be surprised to see Boozer heading to a team like the Orlando Magic. The Jazz would like to re-sign Boozer. But if they can't, they'll actively pursue a sign-and-trade to get something back for Boozer.

The Magic have been offering Marcin Gortat, Brandon Bass, the expiring contract of Vince Carter to interested teams. The Jazz may also have interest in a sign-and-trade for J.J. Redick. They still need a shooter to replace Kyle Korver.

The Indiana Pacers have turned to free agency in their ongoing search for a point guard. The team worked hard in the draft to work out a deal that would land them a young point guard like Ty Lawson, Eric Maynor or Nick Collison but couldn't get anything done. They're now wooing the top two young point guards on the market Kyle Lowry and Jordan Farmar. Both players are restricted free agents, so their teams can match any offer. I don't expect either player to get full mid-level offers.

The Lakers are also in the hunt for a point guard and sources in LA say that they're making a strong push to sign free agent Steve Blake. Blake had a successful run in Portland the last few years before being traded to the Clippers at the February trade deadline.

I really hope LBJ ends up in Cleveland. That town needs a championship and if he went to Chicago it would be like Drexler leaving Portland for the Lakers after the 1990 season.

First off, I am not rooting for Blake to succeed in LA. I didn't root for Jerome Kersey to do well there and I'll sure as heck not root for Steve there. You put on the purple and gold and you're temporarily non-existent to me.

    Here's another rumor from WojYahooNBA-
WojYahooNBA As Y! reported late Wednesday night, Bucks and John Salmons progressing toward contract agreement. Deal likely worth $40 mlll., source says.
Man, do the Bucks and Wolves even have a plan? why sign 3 chevy's instead of going after 1 lexus. I am of the school of thought that values quality over quantity. While these signings make Milwaukee more competitive but they really need a superstar or even a star to play alongside Bogut/Jennings.

I do too, but it's hard to do much when you are over the salary cap and guys like Drew Gooden are making more than the MLE, its makes it hard to get players to take less to play here.

That's nearly what B-Roy got and more than LA got last summer. Overpaying definitely, but I am shocked Memphis ownership ponied up the cash for him.

Maybe this is why everyone is pushing for a hard cap for the new collective bargaining agreement..what, is Richard Jefferson going to get a MAX contract now to? I like Gay's game, but he's getting Brandon Roy money, now I know I have a bias towards Roy, but Gay isn't on Brandon's level, in fact, he's probably a notch below LaMarcus' and LA got 15-20 million LESS than Gay. Way to overspend Memphis!

More on Rudy Gay from David Aldridge-
Two sources have told me that the Memphis Grizzlies are going to make the first major move in the Summer of 2010 free-agent bonanza by taking their emerging star small forward and restricted free agent Rudy Gay off the market, agreeing to terms with Gay on a five-year deal that could be worth about $82 million.

The surprise decision came as Gay was prepared to start visiting teams Thursday. Gay had scheduled a visit Thursday afternoon in Minnesota with the Timberwolves, who had make no secret of their interest in the 23-year-old. But the Grizzlies contacted Gay's agents Thursday morning and said they now would be willing to match any offer sheet another team gave him. Gay then cancelled his trip to Minnesota.

The Grizzlies' decision came after owner Michael Heisley consulted with general manager Chris Wallace and other team officials. Memphis decided it made more sense to just pay Gay rather than wait for another team to come forth with an offer sheet that would have almost certainly included a front-loaded salary structure and signing bonus designed to make it harder for Memphis to match. Such front-loaded deals usually have language that forces the team looking to retain its player to write a huge up-front check for most of the player's first-year salary in the new deal.

Once Memphis made its offer, there was no incentive for him to look elsewhere, as the most any other team could offer him would be a five-year deal for around $78 million.

"I think Rudy likes Memphis a lot," a team source said Thursday, "and I think we were in a position to make the best offer to him. All of that helped us a lot ... if Rudy puts his mind to it he can be a real franchise player--if he puts his mind to it and brings that focus that people like LeBron (James) and Kobe (Bryant) have every night."

Gay averaged 19.6 points per game last season for Memphis, shooting a career-best 46.6 percent from the floor, helping keep the Grizzlies in the playoff chase until the final weeks of the regular season. He became Memphis' team leader and the club thought it was important to keep its core group of Gay, guard O.J. Mayo and center Marc Gasol together as long as possible.

The move is a major blow to teams that had cleared out maximum cap space in order to sign free agents. While Gay was not on the same tier as James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, he was a fall-back in case teams strike out with the top group of free agents, with several teams prepared to make offers. Gay's departure from the board means one less quality player will be available, especially one as young and with as much still-untapped potential as he has.

    The Knicks are screwed.

The Suns have reportedly signed free agent power forward Hakim Warrick to a four-year, $18 million contract.
With Lopez, Frye, and now Warrick, I can see the writing on the wall for STAT. Also, they still have the option to go after Lou Amunson as well. I wonder if they'll get Stat in a sign and trade or just let him walk?

Looks like Dirk is staying in Big D-

Dirk Nowitzki has essentially invested some of his own money into the Dallas Mavericks.

With no guarantee the capped-out Mavericks can land the elite sidekick he seeks to keep Dallas relevant in the Western Conference, Nowitzki agreed Saturday night to give a hometown discount to the only team he's ever known, reaching terms with owner Mark Cuban on what sources close to the talks say is a four-year deal worth $80 million.

That's $16 million less than the $96 million maximum Nowitzki was eligible to receive and likely would have commanded had he been serious about shopping himself on the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time, given Nowitzki's stature in the league as a former MVP and the fact that his game is aging well at 32.

Good for Dirk. I know most of us scoff at the idea of 20 million a year as taking a discount, but its rare this day and age. I still think he needs another star next to him though and I don't see it happening. He must really love Dallas, because he and Wade in Miami or he and LeBron in Chicago would have been nasty.

That team is almost set. They need an upgrade from J.J. Barea. Come on a guy as tall as me is playing combo guard. They also need an upgrade at the back-up PF spot. Other than that they just need to gel better. That team spent half a season together.

Yet they still managed to get dominated by an aging Spurs team who had multiple lineups throughout the year due to injuries. The Mavs need more than just bench players to make noise out West. Butler, Kidd, and Terry aren't good enough to help Dirk win it all.

    Amare to New York-

The New York Knicks finally got a return on their two years of self-induced misery on Monday, finishing up the final touches on a five-year contract for Phoenix Suns free agent forward Amar'e Stoudemire that is expected to be worth around $100 million. A source indicates a formal announcement from Stoudemire should be forthcoming within the hour at Madison Square Garden.

Duhon Leaves New York, Joins Orlando

Free-agent point guard Chris Duhon agreed to a four-year, $15 million contract with the Orlando Magic, his agent, Kevin Bradbury, told ESPN.com.

The 27-year-old Duhon was the starting point guard for the New York Knicks the past two seasons. He averaged 7.4 points and 5.6 assists a game last season.

The Magic currently only had one point guard, Jameer Nelson, on the roster.

Drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the 2004 NBA draft, Duhon has averaged 7.7 points and 5.6 assists in his six NBA seasons.

Not sure I like the fit at all. Orlando needs guards who can shoot the ball from the outside and Duhon is a player I'd invite to shoot from the perimeter all game long if I were the opposing coach. 4 years is also a long deal to give to a journeyman bench player.

Toronto will work out a sign and trade with Cleveland, but Bosh wants no part of playing there (Via Yahoo!)

The Raptors have prepared sign-and-trade scenarios with close to a dozen teams, but are focusing on potential deals with Cleveland, Miami, New Jersey and Chicago. Talks with the Cavaliers have not progressed to where the Raptors have requested specific players, but it’s expected they’ll want forward J.J. Hickson and Anderson Varejao.

If Bosh is determined to leave Toronto and still get a sixth year and extra $30 million on his contract, he’ll have to engage in a sign-and-trade with a team that can give the Raptors an attractive-enough package. The Raptors would prefer young talent and draft picks in a deal rather than a salary-clearing trade exception.

Raptors officials have come to think LeBron James and Dwyane Wade will stay in Cleveland and Miami, respectively, and both will be fighting for Bosh to join them.

Bosh is clearly open to playing with James, but multiple sources said he doesn’t want to do it with the Cavaliers. Bosh is considering the possibility of playing with him in Chicago or New Jersey, if James leaves the Cavs.

Cleveland is still confident it can re-sign James, even without Bosh.

Man, what is Bosh's deal? First he won't sign unless its a sign and trade because he doesn't want to miss out on 30 million and another year of salary. Now, his team says they'll help him out and pair him up with LeBron, but now the city isn't good enough for him. Make up your mind CB4!

Bosh/Wade teaming up in South Beach via ESPN-

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are teaming up together on the Miami Heat, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

ESPN's Shelley Smith also reported the pending move through independent sources.

Whether LeBron James, the kingpin of this summer's celebrated free-agent class, will join them remains to be seen. James will announce his decision at 9 p.m. ET Thursday during a one-hour special on ESPN.

Wade and Bosh are expected to announce their decision on Wednesday afternoon, according to the source, and continue to lobby James, along with Heat president Pat Riley, to join them in Miami, despite the financial complexities involved for the Heat to make room for all three.

Via ESPN, Boozer to the Bulls

Carlos Boozer is the latest domino to fall, agreeing to a five-year, $80 million contract with the Chicago Bulls, a source close to the negotiations told ESPN The Magazine's Ric Bucher on Wednesday.

Boozer follows agreements by premier free agents Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, Amare Stoudemire with the Knicks and Joe Johnson in Atlanta.

The Bulls are still in the running for LeBron James, who is going to make an announcement Thursday on ESPN. But Chicago would have to do some creative financing to fit the superstar under the cap after this deal.

Boozer average 19.5 points and 11.2 rebounds per game for the Utah Jazz last season, his sixth with the team. In his eight-year career, he has averaged 17.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per contest.

Boozer's name has come up in trade discussions involving the Bulls numerous times over the past few years.

I think i'm saying this because I got mad that you need a prime time espn event to let the world know where you will fail next. "F" YOU BUDDY YOU SMELL LIKE NUTS.

I'm not surprised. I assumed that would happen when I heard even Wallace was wanting to come out of retirement to play one more season with Doc. He must be one heck of a player's coach. Well, I can always hold out hope that they like Rudy enough to make a trade happen. I'm allowed my pipe-dreams too.

Who would be in the trade? I hope the blazers dont trade Batum...The only people that might be involved are rudy, bayless, joel, and maybe miller.

Exactly, there was talk about Boston being really interested in Rudy. There would need to be Joel and Bayless involved in order to make the salaries work. Again, it's a pipe-dream and not going to happen.

Good news, Dallas keeping Hayward which means he's not going to Miami-

@SpearsNBAYahoo: The Mavericks have agreed to terms on a six-year, $55 year million deal to re-sign center Brendan Haywood.
And the Celtics keep getting older. I really dislike this move-

@WojYahooNBA: Jermaine O'Neal has agreed to sign with the Boston Celtics, a league source tells Y! Sports.

Well, that's Doc's style. What this means though is that they can keep players fresher by rotating them more often, at least in the post positions. Since they lost Sheed they needed another center anyway.

If you haven't heard..Bron to Miami and then this trade to probably free up more cap space for Mike Miller

@STEIN_LINE_HQ: ESPN.com sources: Miami has agree to a trade with Minnesota that will send Michael Beasley to the Wolves.

If the real big three in the Celtics (which had a strong bench) couldn't win the championship...Miami has no chance for this upcoming season.

lebron is a punk, he's full of himself and plus that, even if you had some guys, how are you going to win a championship with 8 guys? Are the three super stars going to play the whole game or build up a 60 point lead then sit out? I dont see them winning this year, maybe next, but still, im so sick of lebron and his "king" attitude.  Kenny put it best. I was hoping lebron was going to retire today.

    The overspending continues-

@WojYahooNBA: Tyrus Thomas has reached agreement on 5-year, $40 million contract to stay with Charlotte, league sources say.
Goodness! So glad we traded for Camby instead of Tyrus!

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
