    Your explaination  of Thursday, on courtside was right on last night.  I still can't help but feel like the Oregonian is a HUGE part of the problem with the Blazers PR, and how we are perceived around the rest of the country.

    Please fix the comcast deal, and then you can start on the agents and shock jocks !

    I missed that courtside too. What was he saying? Since you mentioned the Oregonian, was the point he made that Jason Quick could have hung on to his story until after the draft? I heard some discussion about that the other day. They were basically blaming Quick for making the Blazers look bad with the timing of breaking that story about Pritchard. I have to admit I've looked at the Pritchard deal a little differently than most people. I always felt like the Blazers/Vulcan people know more about what's going on there than we do, and that they have a better idea of who has been responsible for what. There have also been rumors about some dishonest things that Pritchard was involved in. Whatever, they let him go.
     
    I find it hard to follow the logic though that a reporter like Quick is responsible for anything in the situation though. He had a scoop and he published it. That's what he does. I can support the Blazers getting rid of Pritchard if they had their reasons, even if they don't explain themselves. I can't support the way they dragged it out and made it so uncomfortable though. I think the Blazers grossly mishandeled this thing for a long time and made themselves look bad.

    Then again... Kim... like I said, I didn't hear the actual Miller interview, so I'm probably completely missing the point. Maybe if I did it would change my view on that.

    I have always felt strongly that  " having a scoop an doing his job" is not an excuse for having no morals.  Quick isnt the only one I blame.  KP's agent is right there with him. I hope for KP's sake he gets a new one.
    I honestly feel like the entire Jailblazer era was partly the fault of the Oregonian, as well as Blazer management. The shock jocks make things into a bigger problem than they need to be to sell news. Then harp on it . They never have any concern for the peoples lives they may be hurting.
     Had the situation been handled differently by everyone involved, the Blazers would not have looked like they stepped back in time 5 years on thursday. 
    Yes, it should have been handled better by everyone involved, but the Blazers will never win the court of public opinion with Quick around, he doesnt  write about basketball, he sells people out to get a good story.
    It isnt right, and I look forward to the day that we as a society stop being attracted to all the bad news, and start looking forward to the good things that happen every day.  We got great draft picks on thursday, but who really paid attention after the news broke?  I don't care what kind of toothepaste they use, but had to wait until yesterday to really get a good look at them because of the chaos. Had I realized at the time, that Williams was the one who transferred from Duke to Memphis, I would have been a lot more excited, the kid is a baller!
    The more I hear Brian Smith, the more I like him.  Basketball talk, not toothepaste,sandals or gossip.
    I hope Quick and Canzano both enjoy the ratings they get this week. Their 15 minutes of fame was at the cost of the entire Blazer organization.  Hopefully one of these days Blazer management will put a muzzle on the Oregonian. Where does bad publicity that goes nationwide generate?

    My disclaimer, is that I don't know Quick, he could be a great guy, but he sucks at his job imo.

    I'm sure I'm not telling Blazer management anything they don't already know, but if they don't want this type of thing to continue, maybe they should limit Quicks access to the team  ??  If this last week doesnt convince them, nothing will. I understand it's a job, but there have to be some type of boundaries.

    Again, it's not him personally, it's the job.
