Could someone please explain to me which of these players you all think would fit so well here in Portland and what their place in the roster would be?  For example, Chris Paul, what position is he on his team?

I'll go with your example. Chris Paul, he'd be our second option in scoring as a PG. In NO too many times they needed him to score, here in Portland he wouldn't need to. He could lean on Brandon and LaMarcus to do much of the scoring and contribute when he needs to, but because he can create his own shot effectively within the offense he'd be the second option.

Ok, so who else besides him do you think would fit into the Blazers system of play?

If our Centers can stay healthy and Babbit is everything he says he is, LA gets more aggressive and Consistant emphasis on Consistant. We know we can shut Lakers down. Our biggest downfall last year was consistancy and of course injuries. BUT 90%of our games we lost  last year were because of inconsistancy of anyone who could shoot excluding Broy. L.A. Had one game in the playoffs where he was on. Andre had one game where he was on. Rudy should have shined,Martell should have shined, No one stepped up and we flogged Peehoenix in the regular season. A true PF might be nice with all the Stars coming due this year but I would be ok with waiting and see what happens with this crew for one year. We have talent , we have fans ,we have alot of heart but something is missing and I am not sure what it is. JMHO.

In my other thread on these message boards, I said that everyone on the team needs to get their shooting and scoring percentages up to around 90+% consistantly and the team will win more games.  Everyone needs to stay healthy for that to happen, though.  BRoy wasn't entirely infallible last season either.  It isn't that Babbit is saying these things about himself, it is what everyone else is saying about how good he is.  We'll see if he lives up to the hype.

The entire team needs to be practicing all of their shots now during this break, the new folks included.  Actually, the team should have started doing that as soon as the season ended for them.  Bad shot selection is one of the things that killed the Blazers last season, that and the shots that they were taking weren't going in.

I agree that last season was not the greatest shooting performance we've had over the course of a season. That's why zone defenses were so potent against us. The good thing is our team finally learned to attack the basket, which is a great thing. We just need to meld the two together. Don't quite know what the remedy would be, but adding a shooter would not be a bad idea at all. Don't know if Babbitt is the guy...he is still very raw.

I agree.  It got so bad that by the time the team exited the Playoffs, I was ashamed to call myself a fan for the poor scoring ability the Blazers showed.  That is why I think that they really need to practice all of their shots from Free Throw shooting to Inside the Arc to the 3-point line, etc.  It was embarrassing.

If the thread said Babbitt beat some brothers you all would be expecting a hate crime. I do not see why this is a big deal. Police beat their wives daily and we do not have a thread about that and that is a real issue plaguing society.

I completely agree he could be that voice on the court we need. Lamarcus just isn''t that guy and Damian can learn some on court leadership from him. A small lineup when we need a score bad of Dame, Wes, Paul, Nic, and Lamarcus would be potent.

I would agree Harris seems more dynamic but Harkless looks pretty good as well.
