    From DX-

DraftExpress NBA source: There's a firesale in Golden State & everyone's available except Curry. Owner trying to make team more attractive for new buyer.

We have the expiring contracts and draft picks to make this doable, but the question becomes, do we want a shoot first point guard? I'm not going to lie, Monta is one of my favorite players in the NBA and is ultimately what I hope Bayless turns out to be. This situation is eerily similar to the Warriors getting Baron Davis from the Hornets for peanuts (Dale Davis) when NO was having a fire sale.

We saw Corey Maggette get traded for a salary dump, would  they do the same for Monta Ellis? I think if we are "after" Mo Williams, Ellis would be a much better fit and a better player. What does everyone else think?

I don't like Ellis. Here is the reality. Roy will play off Paul because Paul has earned it. Chris Paul is in Roy's stratasphere. Monta Ellis is not. Roy will keep the ball in his hands with Ellis on the floor. They could not co-exist. It is about trust, about talent, and about value. What you would have to give up to get Chris Paul would be a lot, but you could make it work. I think if you are looking to get option number two, it's Devin Harris or Tony Parker. Parker would have to realize his position as a distributer though. I think Monta Ellis falls down low enough that I would probably take my chances just re-signing Blake and using my extras as trade cushion before I go after Ellis.

The Nets have come out and said that anyone on their roster is available for CP3. If we can't get him without giving up Batum, maybe we try and work something with a third team like the Nets. Maybe The Nets get CP3 and Rudy, New Orleans gets Joel's contract, Bayless, and Courtney Lee and/or Draft picks, Blazers get Devin Harris and Okafur. Would this be something that is possible? I don't know Lee's contract so I don't know if it works, but what do you think of something like this as a possibility?

There's no way I'd take on Okafor's contract just to acquire Devin Harris. Although he is younger then Andre Miller, I don't see him as an upgrade.

The fans in the bay dont really like Ellis, so I would not be surprised to see him go. But dont want him here.
Imo, not a better fit than Stevie ;)

The Warriors are talking to a number of teams about potential trades and it looks like the No. 6 pick in the draft is up for grabs. The cost, however is high. The Warriors want whoever takes the pick to take on the contract of Monta Ellis as part of the deal.
Monta is no CP3, but to get the #6 pick along with the deal would be so sweet. We have what they want, but it depends on if the Blazers are interested.

If that did end up going through, I would anticipate seeing Monta Ellis traded again as part of another deal and Portland holding that pick. You could probably sweeten a pretty good deal for NO giving them Przybilla, Cunningham, Bayless, and a #6 pick. It's a cost cutting move and they get a potential All-Star in their Rookie. Taken in context, a #6 player usually isn't much, but a #6 player picked by Kevin Pritchard is money in the bank. Can we say Brandon Roy? Who's that kid coming out of Washington this year? I've heard that he's up there as far as talent to make a run at Rookie of the Year and is being somewhat overlooked due to the other talent that high (similar situation to B. Roy).

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Barnes would not fit in Portland. His attitude is completely wrong. Sanders has anger problems, but is not an bad guy. Barnes is dirty. Tony Allen already has an excellent core in Memphis. Z-Bo, Gasol, and Conley. He has finally found a team which...

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...
