We should all mail Aldridge packages of Twinkies and marshmallows. Maybe that'll tick him off and get that fire lit under his but. He is too damn talented to play so passive. If he would just man-up and score down low + rebound, we wouldn't be having these trade discussions trying to get Roy a 2nd All-Star.

He doesn't have it in him mentally to do it on a consistent basis. Unless he makes a Pau Gasol transformation, he'll never be an all-star. And it takes a lot to change a players mindset. Heck it took Kobe Bryant 4 years and a jersey number change to finally pass the ball.

LA will be fine, how many years have we waited for Oden?  Don't give up yet.
Once there is stablity at the 5, I think the LA jokes will stop. He's only young Sheed from the shoulders down, and wasnt drafted to be a center.
A couple of good games doesn't change my opinion on Gasols toughness overall.

I don't think LA will be fine Kim in terms of being worth his contract. You can't teach toughness or aggressiveness. It's just like being a leader, either you are born with it or you're not. In a perfect world where Oden was 100% healthy and could be relied upon, he'd be a pretty great 3rd option. But this is reality and we need a 2nd All-Star to help Roy out and Aldridge just isn't it.

Not so true Clyde. Look, has LA proven so far that he is worth his contract? Not so much yet. Have we given him an ample amount of time to do so? Absolutely YES! Does this mean he is a puffball and will never develop that tough mindset? Absolutely NO. You can teach toughness, you can teach leadership. Those who say otherwise are simply too lazy to do so. Are there people who are born leaders, there are people who are born followers, and there are people who step in and do what is needed. There are people who are taught to be tough at a young age and there are people who are taught to be soft. I think more youth coaches these days turn out soft players because they are always arguing with referees for their best players. That is LA's history. He can develop toughness, but it is something the coaches need to focus on instead of just letting him develop his long range jumpers.

Maybe a couple games doesn't change your mind about Gasol, but how about two NBA Championships, a European Championship, and an Olympic Silver Medal?

Gasol has turned the corner. I remember Z-Bo going off on him for 30-20 on multiple occasions, now, not so much. Kobe isn't the nicest of guys, to put it nicely, but I think he instilled a toughness upon Pau. He's a much better player now then he was in Memphis.

I'm not a "fan" either, the guy looks like Harry and the Hendersons mated with ET, but he is definitely better than he was in Memphis.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
