No link. I was watching SportsCenter this morning and J.A. Adande was on and said the Trail Blazers are trying to package #22, #34, and possibly Rudy Fernandez to move into the Top 10 of the draft.

First, would you do that deal?

Second, who is it that we seem so adamant on getting in the Top 10? Or would that Top 10 pick be used in a trade for a All-Star player?

Teams rumored to be moving out of the Top 10:

Kings: Really covet Wesley Johnson, but he won't last till the 5th pick. With the acquisition of Dalembert, their front court is pretty young and talented with Sam, Landry, and Jason Thompson. I hear they are very high on last year's rookie Omri Casspi as well, so I'm not sure they'd want another SF outside of Johnson. They really want to trade the pick for a NBA-Ready player and they want to take the next step into playoff contention.

Clippers: With Blake Griffin returning, the Clipps are set at every starting position outside of SF. Unfortunately, they weren't able to move up in the Draft Lotto to be in position to nab Johnson or Aminu. They have been mocked taking a small forward by nearly everyone, but outside of those two players, it would be a pretty big reach taking Babbitt, Hayward, or George at #8.

Pacers: Like the Clippers, the Pacers need what won't be available. They are in dire need of a lead guard and this class is top heavy; Wall and everyone else. Most mocks have a plethora of power forwards slated to go around #10 and they just used their lotto pick last year on Tyler Hansbrough. I don' think they are of the philosophy of taking best player available. They have been rumored to like Kentucky's Daniel Orton and and Eric Bledsoe. Bledsoe would be there at  #22 most likely and a player like Rudy would most definitely start in Indiana.

The Heat seem ready to sell their #18 pick in hopes of creating more cap space to sign as many free agents as possible, so I wonder if we bought #18, would #18, #22, and Rudy be enough for a Top 10 pick? That seems like a great deal for the Pacers to jump on.

Yeah, I think it ultimately comes down to a move up to move out kind of deal. If you can package a Bayless with a top 10 pick, and throw in an expiring contract, I think you can get someone really good. The reality though is you need to give up a near All-Star to get in All-Star in return unless you are the Lakers. So, I'm not sure even then who we would get in return.

I doubt we move out of the draft completely. I think we'll at least use a 2nd round pick.
Also, I don't see Bayless leaving. His name hasn't been brought up in any of the trade rumors I've heard.
    If we're going to get a great All-Star player, it'll take that Top 10 pick + expirings + Batum/Aldridge.
Finally, I'd take the Clippers off of that list. It appears that Al-Farouq Aminu will be there at 8 which is great value and fills a huge need for them. My best bet would be the Pacers if we were to get a top 10 pick.
Who do we want if we keep it? My gut says Paul George.

No way warriors trade david lee for an unproven player that might not even have been drafted top 5 last year

But I feel like worse teams than us would offer that so you never know he might want to come back where it all started... then again he could hate us with a passion and want to go absolutely anywhere else

Hey there''s no guarantee Noel will go 1st. If I''m the Cavs I would definitely consider trading down.

I don''t like Dwight, but he''s a top center in the league. I say top not thee top because I''d easily pick Marc Gasol, Joakim Noah, and maybe even Roy Hibbert over him.

I flat out called out LA''s poor passing in a thread a few months ago. His passing is so much better than when he was young but he needs to get better.
