    From Jason Quick-

Trail Blazers coach Nate McMillan said he met with Greg Oden recently, after which he was encouraged with the oft-injured center's mindset as he prepares to embark on a summer of rehabilitation.

"I like where his head is at,'' McMillan said. "We talked about where his mind is, and what he needs to do to get back, and the thing is, he knows how to get there. But I liked what I heard.''

Oden fractured his left kneecap in the first quarter of a Dec. 5 game against Houston. Oden played in 21 games, averaging 11.1 points and 8.5 rebounds.

Oden is scheduled to start running in early to mid-July, and should start playing 2-on-2 or 3-on-3 by mid-August. The goal is to have him ready to participate in 5-on-5 action the first week of September, when many of the Blazers players return to Portland for informal scrimmages.

The plan, McMillan says, is for Oden to be 100 percent by the opening of October training camp. On Wednesday, McMillan said he remains encouraged that the October goal is attainable.

"A big part of it is going to be mental ... him trusting (the knee),'' McMillan said. "But he's been through this before and I thought last year he came into camp and his mind was right.''

McMillan said Oden will rehabilitate in both Portland and his hometown of Indianapolis, with athletic trainer Jay Jensen, strength and conditioning coach Bobby Medina and assistant coach Bill Bayno heading the workouts.

This is great news in my opinion. fighting back for a third time is now way more mental than it is physical. If Greg can learn to trust his knee, his game will come to him. It's just like a batter getting back into the box after being hit in the head with a ball. If they thrive on the fact they were hit, it will take all of their focus and concentration away from actually hitting. The same goes for G.O. Get healthy and focus on hoops and not if he's going to go down with another injury and he'll be set!

Wow, those rumors of him being ready for the playoffs were way more than a pipe dream. Goodness! I'd be very worried about him if he's not ready to go by October. That 11 months of healing and it was a clean break. Breaks usually heal much quicker than strains, sprains, and tears. I will be praying for the big fella. He needs this much more than the fans do. I hope for him that he's able to play ball.

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
