"Through five games thus far the NBA Finals are finally starting to heat up, especially after witnessing four dreaful sweeps throughout the first two rounds of the playoffs.

The Lakers head into LA down three games to two and are now in a do or die situation (if they haven’t already felt like that).

Grading the 2010 NBA Finals: Los Angeles Lakers Vs Boston Celtics

    PG: Rajon Rondo- 14.2 PPG, 7.4 APG, 6.2 RPG, 1.6 SPG, 47.8 FG%

Rondo continues to produce for the Celtics even though he has certainly cooled down from the previous rounds of the playoffs. While Rondo has evaded getting to the free-throw line (4-for-15 in 5 games), he still attacks the basket at a high rate and plays effective all-around basketball.

It seems as though the Celtics offense runs through Rondo and if the big three can consistently hit their shots, the point-guard simply needs to continue to distribute the ball.

    Grade: A

    PG: Derek Fisher- 9.2 PPG, 2.4 APG, 3.6 RPG, 37.2 FG%

Fisher has struggled mightily from the field during the five games played so far in the Finals. More so than anything, D-Fish has failed to make a three-pointer (0-for-8) after averaging nearly eight 3PTM during every other round of the postseason.

The veteran helped the Lakers win game three with a big bucket nearing the end of regulation and solely for that reason he get’s a much better grade than deserving.

    Grade: C+

The series has been a solid B+ for me so far. It's guaranteed to go at least 6 and there's only been one decisive win. What's keeping it away from a better grade is the lack of scoring and dramatic finishes. It feels like a great series because we haven't seen one happen before our eyes in such a long time so it could get elevated in status that way, but it doesn't hold a candle to the classics in the 80's and 90's.

Defense wins championships ! I love watching the Lakers lose, but they will win game six just to make it an interesting series and sell tickets, but its not  fixed, I give it a B  ;)

I give it a b-. We need more violence in the paint. I agree with Dhawes22 about the dramatic and scoring, except kobe and rondo do provide some nice glimpses at times. basically it is a very workman like series for both teams. about a b- so far.

A B. I agree with all points presented in here. I wanted to see more hard fouls in the key, more scuffles, and more dramatic endings. THAT is what the Celtics/Lakers rivalry was all about in the 80's and we're simply not getting it here.
