    From ESPN-

The Nets have rejected a trade offer from the Heat that would have sent forward Micheal Beasley to New Jersey for guard Keyon Dooling, according to ESPN's Ryen Russillo.

Miami doesn't consider Beasley a part of their future anymore and is even looking at lopsided trades in an effort to clear additional cap space.

Wow, if true! I know MB has been a disappointment, but if his value is that low, I'd think of all people KP would be one to buy low and sell high. If acquired, he could fill the Outlaw role, plus potentially be a much more deadly offensive player, and be one of the top 6th men in the league. On the other hand, I think this rumor is a farce and the Heat asked for #3 or something else along with Dooling. I have a tough time seeing the Nets turning down a straight swap across the board, esp when they are trying to build the best team possible to show off to potential free agent recruits this summer.

we can play but this kind of aquisition would roll the blazers back towards the jailblazers. MB has too much trouble following him around

Interesting...I'm sure the Heat shopping Beasley is accurate but your probably right in that they asked for a bit more than just Dooling.

I think we are past trying to get get people to fit into the culture. We have a strong system set up here, so now we can be one of those teams who can take a risk on a player and try to mold them into our culture. Also, Portland is a lot different than South Beach, much easier to get caught up down there than it is up here. If we could get him for Rudy and a pick or something cheap like that, then by all means necessary, go get him!

One player who takes pictures of himself in the mirror that end up in the national media at a time please.
NBA players can get caught up anywhere, rehab is a huge red flag imo......

Move along, nothing more to see

Heat Never Offered Beasley to Nets

Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel writes that reports of trade discussions between the Heat and Nets are false.

ESPN reported on Thursday that Miami offered New Jersey young forward Michael Beasley in a trade that would have only netted them guard Keyon Dooling in a move to clear more cap space. The report claimed that the Nets declined.

"After that report came out on ESPN's podcast, I did some checking. Foremost, the Nets weren't interested. But a source familiar with the situation said the Heat never made the offer. So the Heat isn't cashing in on Beasley, at least yet. But if there is one year to maximize cap space, this is it," Winderman wrote on Friday.

I would still seek out Beasley. Portland has had a history in the past of resurrecting the careers of former would-be lottery stars. When we got Rasheed, he was a talented kid, but he was no where living up to his hype of a top 4 draft pick and we got him to 2 All-Star Games and 2 WCF appearances. The same thing could be said for Joel. Taken #9 in the 2000 draft, he looked like a complete bust. Playing heavier than he should have been due to his previous teams directions, but we picked him up on the cheap, got him at a lower playing weight to maximize his defensive instincts and the rest as they say, was history. I think MB could make for a fabulous, versatile 6th man. We do need scoring off of the bench. I would only target him if his value was really on the low-end though.

I''m not talking about those kinda calls, but phantom calls. Kobe gets soooo many phantom calls. I like Lebron, but I know because he''s a superstar he gets certain actions overlooked. Kobe just gets random stuff called. Remember when Kobe smacked...

Oh, sorry Damian, you make so many I stopped reading them. I don''t because I don''t know much about salaries and stuff. Stephenson would be great, excellent rebounder, Tough Defender, is playing awesome in  today''s  game.

Siccolo, did you mean heavier or lighter? I don''t think Noel will do well in the league. If he stays healthy long enough, he might be a half decent starter, if not, Greg Oden.

Damian, you are completely right on that, let''s just hope it''s not a negative impact (Shout out, Ray Ray). And since when did people WANT to come to Portland? This is great.
