Well well well, so much for the advantages of Toronto over Portland . . . . . .  - baba

    ***

Hedo Turkoglu told a Turkish television station he wants out of Toronto.

Turkoglu was close to signing with the Portland Trail Blazers last summer but reneged on a contract offer in favor of the Toronto Raptors. He struggled, averaging 11.3 points, his lowest total since the 2003-04 season.

"When the circumstances turned against me, I lost my enthusiasm for this city," Turkoglu said in the interview. "My lawyers have talked to the front office recently. Honestly, I do not want to go back to Toronto. My lawyers talked to Mr. [Bryan] Colangelo and I hope that they will come up with a solution soon."

Turkoglu was a healthy scratch for the Raptors in late March. The decision to bench him came in the wake of reports he was out on the town immediately after missing a game due to a stomach virus. He was fined by the team.

"During this process I talked to [Raptors coach] Jay Triano several times," Turkoglu said in the interview. "I promised him that whether he starts me or not, I will do my best on the court. However, if I had a more temperamental personality, I would have left the team. Yet, I did exactly the opposite. I did my best. I told him that I have no problems with him. I am not a young player, so it's not a big deal for me to come off the bench."

Turkoglu, who signed a five-year deal with the Raptors last offseason, is owed $43.8 million over the next four years.

ESPN senior NBA writer Henry Abbott contributed to this report.

I really don't feel bad for him one bit. Players who deliberately sign large contracts on teams who really don't have a chance to be great should have to live out the rest of their contracts. He left a NBA Finals team for a franchise stuck in mediocrity, what did he expect to happen?

Karma, karma, karma. And no sympathy from this chick. Now he needs to be an adult and follow through on his contract.

Come on people, have you never did anything that you regretted?  Have you ever moved somewhere and two weeks after you moved thought that this place really sucks, I wish I could get the hell out of here. This seems to be human nature and people should be honest and let people make mistakes that they make themselves. I didn't think Toronto was that bad on paper when Turkgolu signed. I thought Turkgolu would make them better this didn't happen. It could have happened if Bosh was settled. Why are you people hating Turkgolu, when he gave us a gift by not coming here. We should be thankful for his decision. I think the reason he moved to Toronto was for his wife and her being around more Turkish people, I think this is Not the worst reason to move somewhere. We need to consider the time away players spend from family and how hard it is for the family to cope. If he made a decision to bring more comfort to his spouse (which is a good thing) why are you people so mean? haven't we done the same thing. Family first then business. Contracts can be broken and he should do what's in the best interests of his family and peace of mind-LIKE MOVE BACK TO TURKEY AND CRY ON THE SHORES OF THE BLACK SEA WHILE HUGGING HIS NOW COMFORTED TURKISH WIFE.

Can't truly say he gave us a gift by not signing. Who knows, maybe we could have been a better team. Floor spacing would definitely be better for Roy and Aldridge. Blake would most likely still be here, Bayless would still be the back-up. Never know.

I bet some team will be desperate enough to take on Hedo's contract in a sign and trade with Bosh involved.

I would have gladly taken Hedo if it meant Bosh was coming with, but Bosh hasn't shown any signs of interest in coming here.

He must really not want to go back to Toronto if he's willing to leave $44 million on the table if he does indeed get his contract voided. On that note, the Raptors would be foolish to not let Hedo void the contract. That was one of the biggest blunders in free agency history, giving him that much money for that amount of time. If they are able to rid themselves of that deal, that would be a blessing for  that franchise.

Turkoglu Interested In Trade With Kings-
Hedo Turkoglu has privately expressed to league friends a desire to return to the Sacramento Kings, sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Kings and Raptors have yet to engage in trade discussions, sources say, but communication is a likely possibility before the end of the month.

League executives believe Sacramento would need Toronto to minimally take forward Andres Nocioni and the two years, $13.5 million left on his contract.

If he's so interested in getting out of his contract, then why the heck did he sign there in the first place?
