    Paul Allen

At the conclusion of last year's You be the GM we asked for your feedback, and the majority of the suggestions involved bringing back the voting on Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen.

    Ask and you shall receive.

To say it has been a trying year for Paul Allen probably wouldn't be a fair enough assessment. Add up all the injuries for the Trail Blazers this year -- from Nic Batum to Travis Outlaw to Greg Oden to Joel Przybilla to Rudy Fernandez to Brandon Roy and even Nate McMillan -- and none of those compare to when Allen was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in November.

While knee, foot or shoulder injuries heal, Allen is fighting for his health in his second battle with cancer. Despite receiving regular treatment, Allen remained a staple at home games in his courtside seat near the Trail Blazers bench.

Until the out-of-the-blue firing of Tom Penn in mid-March, it had been a relatively quiet and stable year for Blazers' management. After the firing of Penn, Allen (and Vulcan) remained quiet amid speculation about the future of GM Kevin Pritchard. Frustrations mounted in Rip City over Allen's lack of faith in Pritchard, despite a brief statement saying he supported the Trail Blazers GM.

Blazers fans are well aware of Allen's passion for the franchise and the sport. He has always been a hands on owner who not only takes pride in his knowledge of basketball, but also does his homework and is heavily involved in the draft process.

While I realize the GM can't vote off the owner, I'm shoving aside that technicality to give you a chance to voice your opinion on Paul Allen.

You decide. Is Paul Allen still the right owner for this franchise? Are you confident in Vulcan's leadership? Can an owner be too involved? Cast your vote and comment below on why Paul Allen should stay or go.

Agreed Kim. Also, is there another owner in this league that is more willing to open the check books for his team? I mean, how many  draft picks has he bought? Stay!

Whoa..simmer down now. I believe this is just a stay or go poll taken from OregonLive..no need to tell others to shut up.
By the way, stay. I hope he buys another draft pick again this year and packages #22 with it to move on up in the draft once more!

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

Thanks Siccolo, not to knock on Bosh. I think if he was the number one option he would go back to being a beast. I miss making jokes about him playing for the RAPTORS. He is a great player.

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...

I watched Shabazz at the combine and he was a poor shooter.  In fact he did  so bad he did not even show up for drills in day two.  He may be a scorer not a shooter.  If he throws up enough shots he scores.  If someone looks a...
