     "Disappointed and deceived. I've always asked for more responsibility on the team but this season they didn't give any chance. Something like that makes you lose all focus, because you don't know what is going to happen next year."

    Regarding a possible trade, Fernandez states, "I'm comfortable in Portland but I'm sure I could provide experience and talent to another team."

    Fernandez also denies, again, any contact with major Spanish clubs in Barcelona and Madrid.

    I kind of disagree that Rudy wasn't given a chance to have more responsibility this season. Even when he wasn't shooting well, Nate still kept him in the game, gave him the minutes, but he just couldn't get going. And then when it was all but too late, Rudy got back into it. I love Rudy and would hate to see him go, but if his heart isn't here then we should let him go.

    No, he shouldn't be disappointed with the organization..he should be disappointed in himself for his black luster play.

    I have to have mi amiga translate this for me before I rush to judgement on Rudy.  Somethings get lost in translation, and my Spanish isn't that good.

    To be fair to Rudy, these Spanish papers are the equivalent to American tabloids, and things/meanings can get lost in translation, but if those words were truly spoken, then I don't know. He got a ton of opportunities this year to show off his talent and even got to start in 3 straight playoff games.

    Can Rudy for once just be quiet? Its the same sob story every 2 months. Maybe he should look in the mirror and point the blame at himself and his terrible play instead of blaming others. He's really burning some bridges here in Portland and I don't think I'll give him a warm welcome back next year when he's playing for the opposition.

     The article is like a tabloid in Spain.  Roughly translated:
    Rudy has not been the same since his back injury and he knows it. Is looking forward to the world games and coming back to Portland for training camp. He is taking a break now.  He does want more playing time.
    He doesnt want to take a step backward and go back to Europe, and is under contract for 3 years. He knows the fans in Portland love him, and he doesnt say one way or the other he wants to play for another team.
     In all fairness to Rudy, he didnt post this article here in Portland, and he is like a rcok star in Spain, the tabloids are going to hound him....

    I also agree he got as much time as he is going to this season.  I guess we'll have to stay tuned.

    Rudy Is completely right, He would provide help to another team. Hopefully one that's not in the west. I would love to see rudy leave so webster could play more. In my opinion rudy is afraid of big boy basketball ever since he got floored in that laker game. He was in the dunk contest and all he wants to do is shoot threes? he seems to have no mid range game, he's skinny, I mean not tyshuan prince skinny, but weak skinny like most soft european players (gross generalization). But he can shoot and if he is on, he is trouble and if he is against you (like when terry porter was the coach of the suns and he was interviewed about giving up rudy and he just smiled and shook his head - well that could be nate), watch out. Facts are stubborn things, he had the chance to be the man numerous times and step it up when THE MAN #7 was hurt and he was soft and skinny and european and probably wishing for nicer guys to play ball with like maybe only once a week like in europe. package him with bayless and get a good low post MAN. I mean a man who has knee surgery and plays eight days later type of MAN.

    Stop, take a deep collective breath, and let's chill a bit here.
    None of us has talked to Rudy. Just because some Euro writer drank too many cappuccinos, and started typing rumors about Fernandez, doesn't mean we should throw Rudy into a freezing cold Oregon lake.

    No, we should throw Fernandez out of Portland and get a real basketball player here in return. I'm sorry if you're a Fernandez fan(not really sorry) but if you don't agree that he did not take advantage of his time in the playoffs, then you are just blind. If he has been complaining about his playtime and providing a major role to the team, he had his chance..he didn't take it. Bayless and Martel did. So adios amigo.

    I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
