    Is LeBron Overrated?
    YES (10)
     77%
    NO (3)
     23%
Although he is arguably the best player in the game and the reigning back to back MVP award winner, his team is on the verge of going out in the 2nd round to an old Celtic team and they have been getting annihilated to boot. I don't think there is any denying his greatness among the current group of players, but I think it's time the "better than MJ" talk the media fills up the tabloids with goes away. The talent issue isn't there anymore. He has All-Stars in Jamison and Mo Williams, still a tough cover in Shaq, one of the top 6th men in Varejao, and an array of deadly shooters with Parker and Gibson. What gives? Personally,I have hated how he ha handled the free agency situation. He should have just came out and said we'll talk about it on July 1st, 2010, instead he keeps toying with the media. I'll go out and say it, LeBron James is overrated. He is the best physically, but he lacks the intangibles that the likes of Magic, Michael, and Larry all had to will their respective teams to victory. Also, I'm not buying the elbow issue. Kobe is dinged up even worse and is killing it right now and how many 40 pt games did MJ have when he should have been in the hospital? Now, this could all be a moot point if the Cavs come back and win it all, but I still think he's got a ways to go before the MJ-talk is warranted.

Whether you think he is overrated or not, he is an egomaniac. Great player or not, I wouldn't want my Trail Blazers having anything to do with this kid.

    From  PDcavsinsider
LeBron: "I spoil a lot of people with my play. When you have 3 bad games in a 7-year career, it is easy to point that out."

I read that quote earlier in the article on NBA.com... yea, he is good but any player who talks that way about themselves is clearly cocky, selfish and I want no part of on our team!!  3 bad games in 7 years, riiiiighhht!

I think LeBron is forgetting about the entire 2007 Finals series against the Spurs. Talk about a 4 game disappointment! And no, I don't want him anywhere near my team either. We win with class, bottom line.

As far as ability, no he is not over rated. Once again last night we saw what happens when an offense leans primarily on one player. No one wins championships playing 1 on 5.
When Lebron grows up , and learns sportsman ship, maybe he will have better karma.

I agree with Kim - clearly if CLE didn't have LBJ, they wouldn't be challenging for the title these last few years. Yeah,  saw that quote earlier on the Daily Dime ESPN. As for whether he is overrated - well, he certainly lived up to the hype and was successful on a personal basis early in his career, but yeah now that his team is in the playoffs more consistently and with a high seed, not to mention winning 60 + games two different years if I recall correctly, he hasn't done much yet, though he did have some pretty great performances. One example is that amazing period against DET in 2007, when they advanced to the Finals. Again though, that was a reflection on how much they depend on him.

As for anyone comparing to MJ, I've already eliminated Kobe - MJ never lost in the Finals and that's happened TWICE in Kobe's case (2004 vs. DET, 2008 vs, BOS), so for me NO COMPARISON there. So, no chance for LBJ unless he, maybe, wins some titles without losing in the Finals that may come in the future.

Let's see if they can survive Game 6 and if so, the series.

I don't think there is any denying how great of a player he is, but does the media overstate how "great" he is? Yes, the stats are insane, his measurables are through the roof, and he's a two-time MVP winner at 25 years of age, but I think he should win something for his TEAM first before the greatest ever talks rise up again.

We'll find out a lot about LeBron James after tonight's game. Why do I get the feeling he is going to quiet all the doubters (including myself) tonight?

Is he the best that ever played? Heck no. Is he the best in the league right now? Probably. Is he overrated? I don't think so. He seems rated about right to me.

I think he is overrated, but not with his talent and skill level. I think he is like kevin garnett and just wilts under pressure when it comes to having your whole team depend on you to make the big shots. I was pretty sure Garnett was never gonna win a Championship until he went to Boston and had Pierce on his team. Pierce has that killer instinct to put the team on his back, Ray Allen kinda does too. I think Paul Pierce is the only reason Garnett has a Championship, plain and simple. I think lebron has hit some big time shots that were extremely lucky (like last year when he banked in that game winner over Orlando I think in the playoffs) but he definitely lacks that killer instinct and mentality. It sucks, if he had Pierce or Wade or even Brandon on his team, he would probably win it all, but every one would claim he did it. I too would not like to have Lebron here unless he would concede the team to Brandon who definitely DOES have that killer instinct, and he has proven it more than once without hitting lucky ass bank shots. Since I know Lebrons gigantic ego will not change anytime soon, I would not want him here. I've been sick of the Lebron hype for over 4 years now. Plus if he had foul calls, travel calls and goaltending calls on him like every other NBA player he wouldn't seem so dominant. I'm still pissed at the goaltending the refs "CHOSE" not to call against him when he "BLOCKED" Brandon the last time we were in Cleveland.  It was obviously on the way down!!! And it is in that stupid Haier commercial now!!! Man that piisses me off! I am definitely not buying anything from Haier! Anyway, I will be surprised if lebron does anything big to win this series.

That had to have been the quietest triple double in a long time. You can wipe away his 10 assists, because his 9 turnovers surely lead to numerous Celtic buckets and his body language was terrible. The entire team played the 2nd half like they were chickens with their heads cut off, running around with no rhyme or reason and taking some awfully quick shots. A true superstar calms everyone down and goes to work. Sometimes passing is great for a star, but James should have taken over with his scoring, then set up his teammates once the defense collapsed upon him. He was way to passive last night.

Also, didn't he look a little too happy after losing last night? The same player who refused to shake hands last year is chumming it up like he's a Wal-Mart greeter, finding anyone within the 3 square rule to hug?

He needs to learn how to dribble and shoot then we will see. Until then his only attribute is he is a freak athlete.

Wow, has anyone heard of the rumors swirling out of Cleveland?! Seems like Delonte West has been fooling around with LeBron James' mother and rumor has it that Bron found out before Game 4, causing a divide in the locker room, hence their spotty play.

Who knows if its true or not, but it could explain the Cavaliers collapse.

LOL! That's messed up. I'd throw the series and sign with a different team too if that happened to  me. I don't think LeBron is overrated, but he does need to grow up. That is true with most players that join the NBA straight out of High School. Kobe, Garnett, Jermaine O'neal (Malice at the Palace). These players just don't respect their place the way guys like Magic, Byrd, Drexler, Jordan and Walton did. It is just part of the discipline college coaches put into these guys. If LeBron had played even two seasons in college under a guy like Bobby  Knight, he may have a ring already, but he didn't and it will take something drastic to make him understand what is holding him back. The talent is all there he just needs to put it together between the ears.

Yea, I can see if LeBron had a coach who got the most of him, he'd be more successful. The problem is, everyone has been telling him he's the best this and that since he was 15, so he has grown up with a silver spoon in his mouth. Now NBA teams are rumored to let him pick out the coach if he signs with them? Not a smart move in my opinion.

He's a great player with the size he has combined with the athletic ability. It's probably true he's the best player in the league right now. The media does write him up like he's super-human though, so in that way he's rated better than he is, but that's sort of the way the media works. Case in point, I can't think of a since media guy or article that came out before the playoffs started that didn't have cleveland coming out of the east. It seemed like there wasn't even a reason for the eastern conference to play their games. I'm sure he'll win a championship(s) somewhere in his career, but i think it would be classic if he didn't just because he's so arrogant. Maybe the over the top arrogance is part of what has made him great, but for me it's hard to really like someone like that and easy to root against him. I loved it when cleveland went out.

Same with me. I can't stand LeBron and always root for his teams to lose. I really don't know how people can root for someone that full of themselves, which is why I'm proud we have had humble superstars here in the past such as Walton, Drexler, and now Roy.
