Contract status: Entering the third season of his rookie contract, Rudy Fernandez is set to make $1,246,680 in 2010-11, and the Trail Blazers hold a team option for the 2011-12 season.

2009-10: Averaged 8.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 23.2 minutes in 62 games (two starts) ... Finished third on the team in steals, ranking among NBA reserve leaders ... Counted a career-high 10 free throws made on a career-high 10 free throw attempts Jan. 23 at Detroit ... Recorded a career-high tying four steals twice.

Rudy Fernandez had a slight dip in his numbers in his second year in the NBA. Fernandez's minutes, points per game, field goals attempted, field goal percentage, three-pointers attempted and three-point percentage all dipped from year one.

Fernandez missed 19 games after undergoing a microdiscectomy on Dec. 8 to relieve pressure from a nerve root in his back that caused pain in his right leg.

Fernandez scored in double figures 24 times this year, but also had 18 games of three points or less (including seven scoreless games) during the regular season. He scored 15 or more 10 times.

    Scoring average by month
    Oct./Nov.: 8.6 ppg (20 games)
    January: 8.4 ppg (10 games)
    February: 8.2 ppg (13 games)
    March: 7.5 ppg (12 games)
    April: 5.7 ppg (7 games)

With Brandon Roy suffering a partial tear of the meniscus in his right knee, Fernandez became the starter at small forward for Portland in the postseason. As the starter in Games 1 through 3 against the Suns, Fernandez totaled 22 points on 6-for-17 shooting in 26 minutes per game.

Coming off the bench in the final three games of the playoffs, he recorded 19 points on 6-of-9 shooting in 14 minutes per game, including a scoreless Game 5 (0-for-1). For the series, Fernandez averaged 6.8 points, 19.8 minutes and 8.0 assists while shooting 44 percent from the field and 48 percent from deep.

Said Rudy of his season: "For me personally, it (was) a tough year; up and down."

I think this is the one everyone's been waiting for. I feel that with almost any other Trail Blazer, there is a clear cut opinion about them. If this were last year, it wouldn't even be a question, Rudy would stay in the eyes of the fans, but after a disappointing season and uncertainty about his future, more fans are straddling the fence. Do we keep Rudy and hope he returns to his Olympic form or do we try to move him for a player who fits our style a little bit better?

Obviously I voted GO! I've been off the Rudy-wagon for quite some time and just don't think he fits here anymore. He wants starters minutes, yet doesn't produce when called upon. Personally, I think he's more comfortable coming off the bench as we saw in Game 6 when he got hot in the 2nd half. Trust me, I'd love to keep him around if he was a 3 pt assassin which he once was, but I don't think he wants to be here any longer, and it shows up in his play. Sometimes, players need a change of scenery and I think that's what will happen.

This one is tough. If he's not happy here, give the guy what he wants and let him go. If he does want to be here and be part of the team then he needs to put the effort in and show it. If the right trade comes along by all means trade him, but I think he deserves the chance in his final year of his contract to show us that Rudy we saw his rookie season.

Undecided, I like Rudy, but I'm not a fan of trying to keep someone who doesnt want to be kept.  It does no one any good.
If he comes back, what is plan b if he stinks it up again being unhappy ??

Finally the Rudy GM thank you!

I LOVE his energy and style and if I was in the NBA he plays exactly the way I would. But its starting to become clear that his heart isn't in the NBA anymore, and sadly not with the trailblazers either. Its sad really but I think its time to say goodbye.

Very sad if he goes or that he wants to go. It was such a great moment when he arrived at the airport and the great moments last year - the one where he had that sweet layup from Roy I think, then stole the inbounds pass and hit a 3 as the buzzer sounded (it was on TNT, as Keven Harland made the exciting call). But yes, if he would rather go back to Spain, then so be it.

I have to say I'm surprised at the how the voting is going right now. It seems like most fans think it is best to move on, not necessarily due to performance but whether or not his heart lies in Portland or not.

Not DPOY. All American. Player of the year in his conference twice. Past four years, McCollum, Muscala, McCollum, Muscala.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

  8. If you could be gm this offseason what would you do ?

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
