McMillan, please do not take Camby out if he has 2 fouls in the first half of the game especially if he's hot.....if you must put Cunningham in, not Rudy (I love him but he is not working)....  let them run until they get tired this is the PlayOffs baby.....

I agree. At this point, with no true backup center (Thanks Juwan for everything but the lack of rebounding is killing us), Nate may have to roll the dice a little bit with this being an elimination game at all. If LA or Camby pick up 2 early fouls, we may just have to trust they can play through it at this point. The big key for tomorrow is going to be no early fouls. It set the tone for Games 2+3 and ultimately did us in.

I whole heartedly agree with Canzano's column today about McMillan's coaching.  It was a fair minded article giving him profs for what he's accomplished but taking him to task for being out-coached in this entire series.

Enough of this "stepping up" aimed at LaMarcus or Roy or even Rudy.  We may not have the offensive horses that Phoenix does have but the lopsided scores in our losses zero in on coaching, matchups, game time strategy.

I bet if you ask McMillan straight away he'd mostly agree, that he has not met his own expectations, his team's or the public's about his performance this series.

Not too late to do something about it.

Canzano talked about the foul situation in his column today.  Early fouls in Game 5 (to Roy and Camby) were tied to coaching matchup decisions that went awry, as well as taking out Bayless instead of Miller (like he did in game 4 victory) letting Dragic get to the hoop more easily (against Miller).

Alot of what is on this board as slams against the players or the "situation" is really tied to McMillan's decisions.

I just am not sure you can be that critical of a coach, coaching with one hand tied behind his back. I'd like to see how good of a coach Gentry would be with Steve Nas hat about 70%, which is what Roy is at, or playing without Stoudemire, which we have to do with no Oden + Joel. Nate is just playing with the cards he was dealt and is doing a damn fine job in my opinion. Its not like he can get out there himself and rebound. I'm sure he tells the team what to do, sometimes they just don't execute.

I must agree with Donald about Rudy, unfortunately. His lack of confidence this series is really dragging the team down. I love Rudy, but he needs to feel the game, not just play it. I was hoping that the points he made in Game 3 would bring him back to us, but unfortunately, it did not. Camby is the best decision made this season. He has brought us exactly what we needed and I am thrilled that he has been signed for 2 years. I think keeping him in the game as much as possible would help a lot, since, lets face it, he is all we have to answer Stoudemire. In that same sense, having him fouled out would not be a good thing. I wish it were as easy as calling up Oden or Pryzbilla and telling them to suit up for game 6, but it's not. The only other player I can think of that has guarded the post well this series is Miller, but I don't see him as a full time defender. It's never easy.

I remember a game that was played by Portland where I say the Portland Trailblazers.  It was great, I didn't see, LaMarcus Aldridge, Brandon Roy, or even the great Andre Miller.  All I saw was a great team that flowed into thier zone.  Even the bench came in an averaged 15 points per player.  That's what kind of team Portland has right now, and I hope they can do that same thing tonight.  Get in the zone Portland.  Get prayed up before the game and come together as one.

I still have to believe Nate knows more than fans do.  Nate can't make shots or rebound for the team !!

    Go Blazers !!!!

And imo, if Nate could play perimeter d for them,  this series would have been over , Blazers in 6  :)

Love Howard , but his age is showing this series, I'd like to see Dante but Amare on his back !!

Leave it all on the floor tonight! Give it our all and play with no regrets, then let the cards fall where they may.

Well, this is what I mean. "leave it all on the floor tonight".  I like it, you mean well and the players know that drill, but alot more rests on McMillan's shoulders
than you or other posters want to put there.  No denying his calm and veteran style was instrumental in the Blazers overcoming great odds to win 50 games.  I mean
I think he should have been coach of the year and not third in the running.  So I do like McMillan and what he's done for the Blazers.  Don't want him not to be the coach, think he's one of the best around.

That said, he does have an impact on the game that is greater than many posters want to admit.  The players could leave it all on the floor but if the strategy isn't right and incorrect matchups are allowed to play out it won't matter how much is left on the floor.  I want McMillan to stack the deck in our favor with his
game strategy instead of what I think has been the other way around.

I think what the Portland fans need to do is let Portland be Portland and stop being so negitive.  I can't help but notice that negitive trend.  For once people, just this once, forget about every negitive thought and concentrate on all the positives and we got this.  I'm looking forward to seeing Portland beat Atlanta in the championship game so help me out here will ya... lol.  Seriously, do you think that the fans thoughts can effect the Trailblazers game.  Of course it can!  Not like some crazy new age energy sending witchcraft belief but how do you think it feels when you have such wishy washy negitive support.  I say this because I've had enough of it, and the one radio guy on 95.5 I think it is is rediculous.  He needs to be fired!!!  Come on Portland Trailblazers, just pretend that your fans support you no matter what.  No boooing tonight!!!

What adjustment's do you think we should be making then buddy6713? Less switching on the pick and rolls? Different substitution patterns?

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.

Considering that is the only aggressive thing he has ever done in his life, it is not likely he will do anything. Maybe if he did I might respect him more. But its alright enjoy your higher ticket prices to pay this joker 11 million a year.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.

Nah, Washington would just sign him themselves, save them a pick. Also, no way JJ is worth a lottery pick. Oladipo would be great, for pretty much any team in the NBA. I don''t think it''s possible to get him though. Should focus on getting a defe...

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.
