Lamarcus still needs to be more physical

Lamarcus had a pretty good game last night.  His offense was a nice combination of inside and outside game, and if he continues to get those wide open jumpers, he'll stick more of them than he did tonight.  However, 3 rebounds is not and ideal number when you have Amare Stoudemire cleaning up the offensive glass.

Now granted, we won, so you can't really harp too much, however Lamarcus' next step in the evolution of his game is to go hard after the boards.  This season he had his better rebounding games against teams with finesse forwards that match his style.  Against the more physical forwards, he seems to become timid on the boards and sometimes on the low block as well.

Here is to hoping that Lamarcus pulls down 10 boards in game 2, and Camby gets his 12-15 and we walk back into the Rose Garden with a 2-0 series lead.

Yea, he definitely needs to get in there and board. We gave up 17 offensive rebounds and lost the total battle, 47-44. Camby was the only one in double figures and he can't continue to do it all or we'll wear him out. Not just LA though, but Batum, Howard, and Webster need to rebound as well, because even J-Rich got 10 boards..not acceptable.
To LA's credit though, Amare only had 8 total rebounds and a lot of his job was to just get STAT out of rebounding position and hope his teammates can get the loose ball.
I'm more worried about this 18 ft jumper. If he continues to get those wide open looks, they need to be money in the bank.

He missed almost all his mid range jumpers, he did do a lot of work inside on offense no so much of defense. I'm sure Nate will adjust for all the offensive boards the Suns got. I personally think he's been playing a lot tougher the last few games of the regular season...getting just a little more physical is saying a lot for LMA so i'll take it.

Channing played LMA almost the entire game. Aldridge needs to post his booty up, get good position, and work the baseline up and under or the jump hook through the middle. We really need 20+ every night from him in this series, because I'm not sure Dre can get 31 every night.

If I was Bayno (or whoever coaches LA one on one) I would spend an entire practice session making Pendergraph give the baseline when he's on the left block and telling him all he's allowed to do is go baseline.  Everyone knows he goes right, and for good reason.  Whenever he does try to go baseline, it's awkward for him.

Practice that move and it would open up, not only the option to go baseline, but would open his right up too as teams could not overplay him that way so much.

If the thread said Babbitt beat some brothers you all would be expecting a hate crime. I do not see why this is a big deal. Police beat their wives daily and we do not have a thread about that and that is a real issue plaguing society.

I completely agree he could be that voice on the court we need. Lamarcus just isn''t that guy and Damian can learn some on court leadership from him. A small lineup when we need a score bad of Dame, Wes, Paul, Nic, and Lamarcus would be potent.

I would agree Harris seems more dynamic but Harkless looks pretty good as well.
