Is Jeff Pendergraph part of the future?

    He's done more this season than I ever thought he would, and he's shown throughout that he really can play.  Last night was just another good example.  I think he'd be a more than adequate backup 4 for the future of this team.  Anyone else think that?  If we can't resign Camby, will he be good enough to back up the 4 full time next year?

    The words "If we can't re-sign Camby" should not be muttered 'round here :)
    The dunks were sweet, but I was more impressed with his mid-range face up jump shot. His post moves need much work, but I think there may only be room for he or Dante for future purposes and I'll take Dante who is simply a better rebounder. I would keep JP around for as long as we can though. The players seem to like him and I love his energy.

    I'd like to see more of him in Summer League before passing final judgment upon him. Anyone can look good against the Warriors in garbage time, but I do like the progress he's making on his shot. On the other hand, I wouldn't pass up on a better power forward just because of who we have now on the 2nd unit.

    He's got a long ways to go, but I'm sure he can do it. He'll have a solid career in the NBA for sure. With the blazers, that I'm not sure of.

    It is to early to tell. With Camby and Greg doing the center, with Camby also doing back up 4, I can only see little playing time for Pendy, but as proven you can't have to many bigs. Pendy is a quality player and brings lots of spark.

    I believe in the red hot and rolling blazing Blazers, blanketing the hot sun with black and red. Old fashion peanut putter sandwiches and walks on the beach.

    David Lee had 40, 20, and 10 against the Warriors this season, just to give you perspective. First player since Kareem Abdul Jabbar to do that. David Lee is NOT Kareem.

    But it's not like this was Jeff's only good game.  It was certainly his best game, but if he can hit that 15' jumper consistently, we already know he's a tough defender.  Yes, I still wish we hadn't passed on DeJuan Blair, (Gar...) but I think Pendergraph is at least as good as Howard on the defensive end.

    Jeff needs to not put the ball in front of his face when shooting, teams will dial in on that, scout it, and block it. Hopefully, he works with LA this summer and shoots above his head.

    Coach Nelson was probably more mad about the Blazers sitting on a big as talented as Pendergraph, then he was about that whole Devin George fouling out thingamabobber.
    Golden State can't even play 7 guys. Then this Blazer rookie monster comes off deep bench, and blasts you for a buncha' dunks, sick jumpers, and good defense, has gotta be a little disheartening for Warriors fans. Even though they did get the W.
