With only one team seemingly locked into their playoff position, LA, the rest are up for grabs. Take a peak at Casey Holdahl's breakdown of the remaining teams, then see who can get the closest to the actual seedings at the end of the season.

    Here we go:
#1-L.A. Lakers- Move along, nothing to see here

#2-Phoenix - They have the easiest remaining schedule, their style is suited for the regular season, and they are the hottest team in the NBA

#3-Dallas- Just by the slightest margins over Utah. The 1-game lead they have on them currently is the difference

#4-Utah- Playing very well right now. Their 3-game road trip late in April will determine their fate.

#5-Denver- Portland would be here if we only beat then back in October. We may still catch them, but would need them to utterly collapse, which is possible, but we also lose out on the tie-breaker.

#6- Portland- I said #7 all along, but that was before we won 3 straight big-time games. We should be a lock for 50 games and if we beat OKC later on this year in the RG, we'll own both tie-breakers over them and SAS

#7- San Antonio- I see them losing 5 more down the stretch, same as OKC, but they own the tie-breaker over the Thunder by going 3-1 over them this year. Getting Parker back may actually negate some of their momentum.

#8- Oklahoma City- The young Thunder finally are crashing back down to earth. Lack of experience and no inside presence is showing down the stretch will will rear it's ugly head on their upcming road trip.

    #1- Lakers

    #2- Mavericks
They should be able to hold onto #2 with their 1 game lead and should start to get back into their winning ways. They need to play Roddy B more often though.

    #3- Jazz
Clicking at the right time, but only if they could get healthy

    #4- Suns
The loss of Robin Lopez for 2 weeks really will hinder their success and could mean dropping one here or there that they wouldn't have before with a healthy Lopez

    #5- Nuggets
Like D said, if only we had won back on October, then beat them this Thursday, we'd be a lock to jump them. Could still happen, but doubtful

    #6- Trail Blazers
Really only two games left where we won't be favored (@DEN, @LAL). 51 wins looks really legit right now and could be 52 if we finally win in Denver which we could without Karl, Lawson, and Martin.

    #7- Thunder
Although the Spurs have the tie-breaker, the Thunder have a easier schedule.

    #8- Spurs
Look for them to come back down to life here soon. A 5 game series loss with the Lakers is in their future.

Looks like we get our old, bitter rivals, the Jazz

#1 hate it Lakers They are the lakers what do you think
#2-Utah - This is a Dangerous team and with the down fall of denver and dallas getting us one more time..
    Whoop Okc
#3-Dallas -Will lose to the Boys

#4-Nuggets I think the fight for carl will help them coming soon i might move them to 5 if we beat them in Denver.

#5-Phoenix-They might be hot but i don't have faith and i really beleive they are a first round speed bump for denver.

#6-I've said it for a while we will get 6th and i really think it is a lock possibily 5 but doubtful.

#7- OKC yea they have been great but so were we last year . I'm going to say it they are still young..out in first round.
#8-San antonio - There Old First round out.

    i say this....
#1. L.A. Lakers- even though i dont like them they deserve to be on top.
#2. Denver Nuggets- this was a tough choice for me, i choose them over the dallas mavericks because i think carmelo is better than dirk nowitizki. nuggets will lose in second round.
#3. Dallas Maverick- just falling short of the two seed they will settle for the 3 spot.
#4. Utah Jazz- the jazz have been strugling as of late and that is not a good thing for a team to be doing heading into the postseason.
#5. Portland Trail Blazers- i believe the we can win all of our games remaining, the only tough game i think will be the @LAL. and beat dallas in 6 games to advance to the second round.
#6. Phoenix Suns- they have an easy schedule remaining but i see some of there players looking ahead and getting beat a couple times down the strech.
#7. Oklahoma City Thunder- the thunder have been a real surprise this season, and are starting to cool off. the will get bounced in the first round.
#8. San Antonio Spurs- the great years of the spurs dynasty is over, this team is getting old and quick i see them getting kicked in the first round.
I am a fan of i have season tickets, i am willing to sell my knicks tickets for 120$ for two tickets. my section is 222 row. k seats 5 & 6.

I had the Blazers finishing in second before the season started. We know that probably won't happen this year, but's there's still a little hope. I'm stickin' to my guns

    1. Fakers (booooo)
    2. Blazers (yaaaay!)
    3. Dallas (loaded team, we beat 'em, but they got the works)
    4. Suns (Nash + Amares = scary)
    5. Memphis (Zebo runs amok and hammers his way into the playoffs) -just kiddin
    5. Thuggets (That'd be a straight war against the Suns in the first round. Might go all 7)
    6.  Jazz (D-Will and the Booze-Man aren't as tough without Brewer no mo)
    7. Thunder-Sonics (meh.)
    8. Spurs (Just lost to the Nets, after hosin' Boston and Lebron. DUDE! When Parker gets back it may be too late for them to get past the Lakers)
I am a fan of playoffs in two zero one three

I agree with DHawes22 with the exception of #7 & #8... thinkin that the Spurs are gonna stay in 8th. Especially with Ginobli with his back spasms as of late.  Just hope we dont have to face the Lakers or the Jazz (just cause they swept us)  in the first round.  Other than that, bring it on!!!

I think its possible that all 8 teams finish at 50 wins or more.

    1.  Lakers       61-21
    2.  Mavericks  56-26
    3.  Utah          55-27
    4.  Portland    52-30
    5.  Phoenix     52-30
    6.  Denver      51-31
    7.  San Antonio  50-32

    it is my prediction :

    1.  Lakers   - I hate them but they will be first
    2.  Mavericks  - good team for second place
    3.  Utah  - I also don't like them but D.Williams is really good player
    4.  Denver  - only in fourth
    5.  Phoenix  - Nash is getting older - last chance to do something
    6.  Portland   - good place to start playoffs - go blazers win the first round and then we will see !?
    7.  Oklahoma City - for me the bigger surprise of this season
    8.  San Antonio  -  old team and old coach enough for 8 place

I am a fan of Portland Trail Blazers, RIP CITY !!!

For everyone predicting us to finish 5th or above, tonight is the night. If we win, there is a really good chance we could catch Denver, but if we lose, no chance at obtaining 5th with so few games remaining.

Time for a revision 1 week before the season ends

    1- Lakers
2-Jazz: If they get by HOU tonight, they win out (27 losses)
3-Mavericks: Will lose once more to us, thats it (28 losses)
4-Suns: Tough schedule, but getting Denver at home should hold the Nuggets off (28 losses, but DAL owns tiebreaker for winning division)
    5-Nuggets: By default (29 losses)
6-Trail Blazers- Should go 4-1 rest of the way (31 losses)
7-Spurs- Lose Hill, but TP returns (32 losses)
8-Thunder- They continue to win but schedule is BRUTAL. I have them losing at home to DEN and PHX and away in the Rose City (32 losses, lose tiebreaker to Spurs)
