Who do you think would win?
    1989-90 (59-23) (3)
     25%
    1991-92 (57-25) (9)
     75%
Time to vote on new match-ups. Today is the 1989-90 vs 1991-92 teams. Vote on who you think would win AND tell us why you voted that way. You might be able to sway some of your fellow Blazermaniacs to vote with you.

1989-90: Overall record: 59-23 (tie, 2nd in league, 2nd in conference, 2nd in division)
Portland capped a stellar season by winning the Western Conference championship and taking on the defending champion Detroit Pistons in the NBA Finals. The Trail Blazers compiled the league's second best record, 59-23, including a 24-17 road mark. CONTINUE READING/Become a fan of this team

1991-92: Overall record: 57-25 (tie, 2nd in league, 1st in conference)
For the second time in three years and the third time in franchise history, the Trail Blazers were locked in a June battle for the world championship, this time against defending champion Chicago. Ultimately, Michael Jordan and the Bulls prevailed but not before Portland took them to The Finals series' sixth game in Chicago Stadium. The Blazers finished the regular season with the West's best record, 57-25, and tied for the second most wins overall. CONTINUE READING/Become a fan of this team

Probably the hardest vote for me so far. I went with 92 by the slimmest of margins. They took a better Chicago team, compared to the Pistons, to a longer, more compelling series (outside of the Game 1 debacle). I think Buck and Mercy were better back in 1990, Porter maybe a little better in 92, Duck stronger in 90, but the push for me was Clyde. This was his shining moment as a player. Runner up to the MVP, 1st Team All-NBA..really the pinnacle of his career.

I went with the 1990 squad because their path to the Finals was more impressive in my opinion, winning a 7-game series over the Spurs without Duckworth for the first 6 contests and winning game 6 in Phoenix in cold-blooded fashion. They should have won both in Detroit while the 92 team got steamrolled in Game 1. It's a shame Portland lost all 3 at home to Detroit, but they were all down to the wire and could have gone either way. I think the 92 team just showed they lost a step from the prior two years, sans Clyde.

I voted for  91-92 to win... more veteran and proven team. Uncle Cliffy more experienced. Close match-up, but the fact that 89-90 was the first time they went to the Finals ,the 91-92 was tested from the previous two years.

found a better trade than Simmons which I tweaked only a little bit to make it more fair

Cavaliers get: LaMarcus Aldridge + future picks

Pelicans get: Anderson Varejao, 10th pick in the draft (Blazers)

    Warriors get: Ryan Ander...

But I feel like worse teams than us would offer that so you never know he might want to come back where it all started... then again he could hate us with a passion and want to go absolutely anywhere else

Hey there''s no guarantee Noel will go 1st. If I''m the Cavs I would definitely consider trading down.

I don''t like Dwight, but he''s a top center in the league. I say top not thee top because I''d easily pick Marc Gasol, Joakim Noah, and maybe even Roy Hibbert over him.

I flat out called out LA''s poor passing in a thread a few months ago. His passing is so much better than when he was young but he needs to get better.
