I'm currently on vacation in Phoenix and coincidentally enough, Portland was in town during my visit here so I had to check out my boys from the Rose City. There were a few aspects about their arena I loved and other facets of it not so much.

The Good: One of my favorite things to do during a Trail Blazers game is to scoreboard watch, especially during the playoff push. They have about 8 total boards and 4 of them are dedciated to the out of town board, which not only posts the scores bigger, but gives stats for each team and the time remaining instead of just the quarter. Their fan shop was larger and much more roomer than ours and I love the fact they have an open concourse inside the arena for any fans, even ones without tickets, to use and take part in activities before the game. I didn't care for their choice of intro music (Run This Town...way to over used), but they turn out all the lights prior to introducing the players which was sick and I wish we did the same. Finally, their food choices seemed much more superior than that of the RG, which included Coldstone, a weakness of mine.

The Bad: The atmosphere inside US Airways Center was sporadically mediocre at best, as fans only stood for a few seconds when the jumbotron told them so. There was no Bruce, no Free Throw Guy, no Hippie, no Super Fan, no Dancing Lady, no fan personalities whatsoever. Even after big momentum shifts in the game, forcing us to call for time, no one got up and danced. I also noticed their lack of signage as I saw only one sign, which was made into four parts, spelling out SUNS. They have no Todd Bosma and their game operations during timeouts and halftime were uneventful. Even the famous Suns Gorilla hardly did any tricks at all and wasn't present for much of the game.  Also, do not take for granted the stat board! While the RG has stats for both players and teams at your every disposal, in the US Airways Center, there were many boards, but they cycled through the different stats, meaning it took a while to see what you're looking for.

Overall it was a fun experience seeing a different venue, but it only made me appreciate the Rose Garden that much more. After hearing the old Suns Memorial Colliseum be dubbed, "The Madhouse on McDowell" and seeing just how rowdy Suns fans got during the playoff series against us in 90 and 92, courtesy of my Blazer video yearbooks, I am curious to know why they are so timid and quiet now..its not like the team is awful. The bottom line is that Trail Blazer fans need to know how good they have it and how special an arean the RG is. We always hear Mike and Mike talk about their experiences in other arenas and how most of them can't hold a candle to the Garden, it really doesn't sink in until you have that experience for yourself. Be thankful Blazer fans, we have got it good!

Paul Allen said how do we get better?  I see no activity in the draft with no draft picks.  The trade possibilities are limited because of the value of our bench players.  We have no cap space.  So I think the improvement of our b...

First Game starts tonight. Houston is a tough first round opponent and they play exceptionally well at home. If we can steal a game or two at their place, I feel like we have extremely good chances.

P.S. Would anybody happen to have a...

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
