Listen Blazer fans i've wanted to say all season and here it is. Those of you who think bayless is a asset to this team are Wrong. hYes he had a few good games but his bad have way out weighed the good and tonight he is proving it. When we made our trade i was really hoping that blake was staying and bayless would end up in the d leauge.Bayles can driuve not usally make but occasionaly draws a foul . His jump shot sucks. And he is a selfish ego tistical player. My vote bring in patty and send bayless to idaho.

I'm not sure what numbers 1 through 3 are......
But we are going to have to disagree on Bayless/Mills.
imo, Bayless is the best defensive guard the Blazers have.  He is still learning from Roy and Miller.  I love the kids fire.  I still keep him as part of the future.
As far as Mills, signing Blake jr is writing on the wall.

Call me crazy, but I don't get the Steve Blake infatuation people have. He's an above-average shooter at best who can not create his own shot nor can he finish at the hoop. His defense is adequate, but at 30 uis not getting any younger. Please, lets be honest here..dude peaked last season. 08-09 was as good as it got for Steve Blake and frankly, it still made Portland have one of teh weakest starting point guards in the league. I thank him for his time here and his clutch 3's, but at best, he is a backup point guard in this league for the duration of his career. Will Bayless ever surpass him..has he already? Who knows, but I'm willing to gamble.

True Blake may be a backup..but he could still run our offense, especially the pick and pop with LaMarcus..who has missed him since he was traded..I haven't looked at numbers, but I'd be willing to bet L.A.'s Fg % is probably down, due to the fact Miller just doesn't run that particular facet of the offense as well..Blake always put team first, and I hope we can get him back next year..I'd still take him over Bayless, at this point in Bayless' career. Go Blazers!!

Geez 1297, you've waited all season to say that? Where were you when the season first started? We've already been down that road. Then Bayless started lighting fools up, earning a spot in the rotation.
Blazers lost, Jerryd had a bad game, and you come out of your Bayless hatin' closet to throw sand in his eyes? Good timing there buddy.
Go pick on Webster or something, at least Bayless was trying to score against PHX. All Martell did was run to a corner and hide. When your team is losing, you gotta go and get some, know what I mean?

I will never understand the male fasination with starting.  If you don't start, you don't mean $@*!
I care who finishes, and want to win.
For insurance, ( injuries happen) Steve Blake is a great player to have on the bench without a huge contract.
Throw in Roys comfort, and the team signing blake jr, I would have liked Stevie to stay.

Honestly, LA's been getting easier shots if anything playing full time with Miller than he did with Blake. Blake never pushed the fast break and I see Dre find LA at least once a game for an easy fast break hoop. If Aldridge's FG% is down, then it is due to his outside shot being off a bit this season. He has tendencies to settle for it too much. If he would only work inside then out, I would then think his shooting percentage would skyrocket. Personally, I'd love to see him work on hi baby hook in the post during the off-season. With his wingspan so lengthy, nobody would be touching that shot.

Most fans agree Blake is a great role/bench player, yet Nate used him as a crutch way too often and overused him too much. Andre should have been playing big minutes from day 1 and running with the starters, yet Nate relied on the comfort of Blake to start off the season.

Sure Bayless has been struggling lately, but overall I'd say he's had a pretty solid season given the situation he's been in. It's hard as a player to get into a rhythm when you aren't getting consistent minutes. During that stretch when Roy was out and he was getting solid minutes he was playing very good basketball. Since Roy has been healthy Bayless' minutes have been all over the place.
I'm not sure how you can say his jump shot sucks when he's been knocking down that top-of-the-key jumper all season and he's had several games where he's knocked down multiple threes. I think it's fair to say his jumper is inconsistent, but really no blazer's jumper has been consistent this season. Also I don't see how you can call him "a selfish ego tistical player". He averages the same assists per 48 minutes as Roy (5.9) as well as nearly the same points per shot (1.34 to 1.35). Does that make mr. 7 a selfish player? I don't think so. I also don't think we're gonna see Bayless go anywhere for a very long time. I think if he was gonna be traded it would've happened when his stock was highest, which was probably just before the trade deadline. I think Nate and KP believe in him, along with many blazer fans, and that's gonna keep him around.
I too want to see Patty Mills get some quality run but it's far too late in the season to start experimenting with players and the games are just too important. Imagine a future PG duo of Bayless and Mills, assuming Mills pans out to be the player we're all hoping he is and Bayless continues to develop. The opposing PG would have no time to relax with two players who love to attack and are very good at it. I also think that Mills could end up being a solid player to play alongside Roy if he can shoot the three like he had been in the NBDL.
