What are your guys' thoughts about tonights game? I know that Casey and Tone will be doing a Chalk Talk at noon, so we can hear what they think. It seems like forever ago that we beat the Raptors. I wonder if it feels that far away for the players. Hopefully we won't be rusty and get after it.

Couple of things I think we need to do:

Intensity for the full 48 mins. I think that is the first thing that needs to happen. Clamp down on D and focus on offense. Take care of the ball. Having so much time off sometimes makes us sluggish at the beginning of the games and then we get in a hole.

2nd and 3rd scoring options. Against the Raptors, LMA really did a great job scoring early to get the focus off of Brandon. Batum came on in the 3rd and especially 4th to keep the scoring going. We really need to shape that 3rd scoring role going into the playoffs.

This Wizards team is drastically different than the one we lost to in Washington. And we're also a better looking team now. Brandon playing, Batum playing, Camby on the roster.

    What do you guys think?

Man am I ready! I thought it was last night and right when I was settling in I realized one more day until tipoff! LOL

    Good points Darbpunk!

I think they do need to come out with major intensity and set a tone with the defence right away. We all know the Blazers kinda tend to fall asleep in games that we SHOULD win, and giving the oppenent even the slimest chance they can win is dangerous and actually not exuseable at this stage in the season...which brings me to my next point.

It is time to start "fine-tuning" for the playoffs. It is time to treat Camby as though he has been here from the start and it is also time to give Batum some more minutes. More minutes for each of them will help step up their game and get them ready for battle. They are the two best defensive players we have and they need to be ready. Also offensive options for Batum need to be explored quickly. We do have Rudy that we can look to for quick offence but that is just about it. Bayless is still too out of control to count on for offence, however we can always count on energy from him. Batum however is a much better shooter and his decision making is very good.

I think tonight if the Blazers were to set goals, it would be to bring it all 48 minutes, hold the Wizards to under 90 points and have a victory margin of at least 9+...after all, that is what it SHOULD be. Anything better than that will show we are focused and are well prepared.

    Go Blazers!

    peace out,
    daddy

Lol, no. Dwight Howard would be the absolute worst thing to ever happen to Portland, and no doubt my fellow message boarders will let you know why.

This past season the biggest problem was that we had 5 players that did the majority of the scoring for this team and the bench didn''t produce or defend at all.   This coming season the Blazers are going to need production from both the first...

Joakim Noah has had his injury troubles. His crazy game and high energy make him a constant injury threat. What separates him from Oden and Rose (I had to just mention him) is his willingness to play the way he loves.
