1976-77:Overall record: 49-33 (tie, 4th in league, 3rd in conference, 2nd in division)
Blazermania is born. The Trail Blazers crowned a storybook season by besting favored Philadelphia to win the NBA Championship, a first-ever world title for Portland. The capper came June 5 in Memorial Coliseum when Coach Jack Ramsay's club pulled out a 109-107 thriller in the sixth and deciding game. The Blazers became only the second team in NBA history to go all the way in their first trip to the playoffs.CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

1999-00: Overall record: 59-23 (2nd in league, 2nd in conference, 2nd in division)
Three losses---two of them on the basketball court---clouded an otherwise outstanding season for the Trail Blazers who recorded 59 victories to match their second-best best finish in franchise history. The biggest setback came May 5, just two days before the team opened its semifinal playoff series against Utah, when popular assistant coach Bill Musselman lost a six-month battle with a rare disease, primary systemic amyloidosis. Two weeks earlier, the Blazers lost their regular season finale at home to Denver, 96-95, and failed to post the franchise's second 60-win season.CONTINUE READING/Become of fan of this team

The intangibles are what sets apart the 77 teams from the 00 team. On paper, I would take the 2000 team, but they couldn't seal the deal while the 77 team not only stormed through the first 3 rounds of the playoffs, but when adversity faced them in the Finals, they met it and ended up destroying Philly. It would be a travesty if the only championship winning team in our history didn't even make it to the Final Four.

Considering this is a one-game situation, I'll take the 2000 team. They had veterans on that team who had been there before and were more athletic than the 77 team. Damon, Anthony, Smith, Bonzi, Pip, Augmon, Sheed, BG, Sabas, and Jermaine O'neal?!? That is just too much.

Yeah I was one of them *blushes*. I was never a diehard fan of basketball until the 2011-2012 postseason. I could name every team, but I always forgot two. Kings and Blazers.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
