No links to the old site messages? Everything gone? This is a joke. Pisses me the hell off. Screw the goddam system administrators who made this site.

I don't remember you on the old site, but I agree. When I click on "Start a new discussion" there is no submit key. I really like the old site, but, I guess we can get used to anything. Don't give up, I love hearing from others about our beloved Blazers. BLAZERMANIA BABY!

i remember Krimson Kracker too. This is my first look at the new site myself, and I can already tell it's going to take some getting used to. Change is good sometimes though. This one looks pretty cool so far.

lol....i can't believe this is what they came up with. I mean, are you kidding me. Way too much work to have any fun. Everything is buried to the point of ridiculousness. I'll be on 20 minute hunt just to check on this topic, again. Actually, scratch that. I won't be checking up on it. After a couple years in the making, i just can't believe this is what they came up with. Ok, now i'm repeating myself.

I replied to a similar post... seems like there needs to be some improvement on the messageboards. One of the great things about website is that they can be changed with user input. As I stated in the past site, we want to make this an amazing site for you guys to use, and if the messageboards come up short, than that's a BIG miss. This is one of the most important things to this site, so I want to get it right.

One feature that I encourage you guys to use is the "subscribe to this discussion". That will notify you via email if something is updated. It also shows up on your News Feed when you log-in to the site.

If I can get some feedback from you guys, other than this sucks, I think we can make it a lot better. Do you guys favor traditional looking messageboards with the 'grid" like view vs the Active Discussions? We had that activity tracker on the old site... that's kinda what the Active DIscussions is on the main messageboards page.

Thanks for any input you guys can give, and we might do some sort of meet up in person to walk through what you guys like and don't like about the site later this week.

    Thanks-
    Dan.

I still can't figure it out. As far as Ideas, that's nice to be asked. That will take some time and thought to respond to. But right now, whew, this is the 3rd time I've visited to try to understand what all you got going here and I just don't have a clue.

Anyway, Go Blazers - 3 in a row anyone!!!!

I don't mind the 'active discussions' layout of the message board (though it was nicer how the old site cut off the replies a bit, for those of us more verbose), but having everything sorted into categories instead of a long list of the topics is both a benefit and a detriment. On the old site, I used to just sort the topics into chronological order using the 'recent' tab. It made it easier for me to more or less see what I'd missed since my last visit. Something like that, at least for my part, would be greatly appreciated.

    Dan-

I think the main thing im hearing is that there is just too many things crammed into the site and peple like a simple site thats easy to use and see all the message boards. I think newest to oldest is the easiest way to sort out the message boards and really message boards is the only thing most people use.

Im sorry youre taking so much crap about the new site. I know all you wanted to do was make it better.

No worries about taking crap. I don't take it personally. I've been doing sites long enough to know that no site will ever be perfect.

Some perspective on the old site... we had a TON of people that just left the old site as they felt there wasn't anything unique to it, just the messageboards. Hence, the new features. Those people didn't stick around and a lot of the hardcore fans like you guys were the ones that stayed. Not saying those guys were fairweather or anything like that, they just didn't see the value of the old site vs other messageboards. So we beefed up the offerings.

We've done some studies and only about 20% of the people that use the site contribute 80-90% of the messageboard topics and acutally write something. Most of the people just come on and read. Those people wanted something else to do, but didn't want to write (messageboards or blogs) so we created the Starting 5, the Scrapbook and things like that for them. Almost 75% of the people that signed up for the site since we launched created a Starting 5, that extremely good adoption.

I love hearing the feedback as I want to make this site great for you guys to use to talk about the Trail Blazres. If there are features that get in the way, or aren't usable, that's what I want to fix. I've gotten some amazing feedback from you guys and we're working on fixing a couple of thigs:

    1) Paragraphs Showng up when you type (not sure how this wasn't there by default)
    2) URL's automagically become links
    3) Putting the "Add Discussion" button also on the top of the pages
    4) Giving you some bold, underline, italic controls
    5) More controls on the "Active Discussions" module (we'll work on sorting by category, by date, and by popularity)

That's just a couple of things that you should see in the upcoming weeks. So stay with us, we'll do the best we can to get these issues straightened out.

    Thanks!
    Dan.

Ok so to my understanding, he would sign to Portland for a 2Y/10mill deal, but for portland it would mean one of the 2 options. 1. Using their amnesty on Roy, or 2. Losing their "Mid level Exception".
