    For the first time since winning the NBA championship in 1977, the Trail Blazers advanced beyond one round of action in post-season play. Finishing the regular season at 46-36, the most wins sincethe 1977-78 campaign, the Blazers took two straight from the fourth-seeded Seattle SuperSonics in the playoff's first round to advance to the Western Conference semifinals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
