Trail Blazers @ Warriors Game Thread
Who says you can't go home again? Back on January 11th, Damian Lillard returned home to Oakland as the Trail Blazers faced the Warriors and had a banner night, posting career-highs in points (37), field goals made (15), field goals attempted 25), 3-pointers made (7), and 3-pointers attempted (12). Portland fell 103-97 to Golden State as Lillard was the only Blazer who had it stuck on automatic; The rest of his teammates shot just 20-62. Even coming off of a loss to Utah on Friday, expect Dame to be ready for his second homecoming of the season. Golden State is a fantastic offensive team, but they don't have any defensive stoppers on their roster. Steph Curry and Jarrett Jack just don't posses the lateral quickness or strength to stop an aggressive Lillard. I'm not saying Dame will set a new career-high, but without LaMarcus Aldridge, who won't travel with the team on this two-game road trip (ankle), look for Lillard to be assertive right from the get-go. Also, look for Coach Stotts to play Maynor with Lillard on the court at the same time to give the Trail Blazers another ball-handler and decision maker out there in case Golden State decides to throw the kitchen sink at Dame.
So Rip City, what are your keys to victory?
