    POSTGAME QUOTES

    HEAD COACH TERRY STOTTS

    On tonight’s loss:
“It’s a very disappointing loss. We were in a position to win a couple of times, and we just didn’t come up with a rebound or get a stop that we needed. We were 10 down and we battled back, but it’s disappointing to be in that situation and not come away with a win.”

On Wesley Matthews’ final shot at the end of the game:
“Wes got a good look from the corner, but Anthony Davis flew at him and he’s long. (Wesley) had to put a little more air under his shot. Wes was the first option and Damian was the second option. Wes came open and Damian did a nice job getting it to him.”

On the problems Ryan Anderson created for the Blazers at the end of the game:
“We didn’t control the ball very well until we started blitzing Greivis (Vasquez). When three-point shooters get hot, they create problems. Ryan Anderson got hot, and he spaces the floor for them really well. It was a tie game and they hit three three’s. When three-point shooters get hot, they create problems.

    WESLEY MATTHEWS
On what the team failed to do to win the game:
“We didn’t close it out. We had a chance. We had two opportunities with the lead under a minute. We had two opportunities to seal the game off and make it a free throw game, but we didn’t. We let one slide.”

On playing well against good teams and poorly against below average teams:
“I don’t know. I wish that I knew. Then, we wouldn’t be talking about it.”

    DAMIAN LILLARD
On coming back in the second half:
“We played better defense and rebounded the ball better. We got to a couple of loose balls. That’s what allowed us to make that run.”

On if the road trip was a wasted opportunity:
“I don’t think that it was a wasted opportunity. I just don’t think that we took advantage of the opportunity. It’s tough to win at Memphis, even though we did have a 17 point lead and we let it slip. That was just an opportunity that we didn’t take advantage of. We won the last game. Tonight, it was just one of those games where they made some shots. They got going on a run. They made their run. It was kind of a game of runs. We just came up short.”
