Postgame Quotes: Tough Night In DC

    NOVEMBER 28, 2012  Wizards 84, Trail Blazers 82

    On the team:
“I don’t think we are rebuilding. We are a good team. I think we are a playoff team. We just got to believe it, and everyone has got to believe it. We got to act like it.”
    On the Wizards:
“I’m not taking anything away from them. They didn’t have a win. They played hard, they play extremely hard. Until the last San Antonio game, their margin of defeat was seven points. They were in every single game. We can relate to that.”
    On being a leader:
“I got after them a little bit in the locker room after the game…We need to win. We need to believe we are winners, and we need to take the approach every day in everything that we do.”
    On the game:
“It definitely don’t feel good. It was a tough loss. We definitely had a chance to win, and we did some things to give it away. We are a young team, we are going to learn from it, and definitely try and win next time.”
    On style of play:
“We have to mix it up, whether it is me posting up, or somebody driving to the basket. I know Damian (Lillard) went to the basket five or six times. I posted up. We just got to keep mixing it up.”
    On the losing streak:
“I think every loss is difficult for us. On the road trip, to start 0-3, is very tough. We weren’t worried about their record, we were worried about ours and trying to get back on track. It was tough for us coming out here and not winning. We can shake this rut. We should back bounce from it.”
    On the game:
“We are the first team they beat. We had a chance to win the game. I think we jumped out on them, but we let up and coasted, and we let them get their confidence up on their own floor.”
On the end of the game:
“I was supposed get it, L.A. (LaMarcus Aldridge) was supposed to set a ball screen in the middle. I saw that that whole side of the floor was open, but when I went I saw that J.J. (Hickson) was wide open because they had a miscommunication, so I slowed down and my defender had a chance to get a better position on me. I knew that his man would keep coming and commit so I made the late pass to J.J. and it was probably a little bit off and he missed the shot.”
    On his last three games:
“It doesn’t really phase me. I just got to keep playing through it. I know I’ll come around shooting the ball, but the best thing for me to do is just stay aggressive and keep my mind right. I’m not worried about it.”
