Wow! Once we got knocked out of the Playoffs I was trying to prepare for Rip City to be boring until draft day. I thought the last month and going through June was going to be the most painful summer of my fanhood since a metal detector in Arizona. Then, good old Keving Pritchard drops that BOMB on the Morning Sports Page. Ofcoarse KP drops it the morning of the lottery so now everyone in Rip City is anxiously waiting to see who places where. Then once we know the lottery, everyone wants to see what's going to happen. Everyone is trying to guess what he meant by that, or what his plans are for this team. Is he as hung up on Rubio as the frequent Youtubers? Does he have someone else in mind as far as trades? Is he just teasing the market to see what other teams throw out? Is he just teasing us to keep us excited about our Blazers through the long summer? I was painfully anxious for time to speed up so we could get to the excitement, now I am anxious to talk about possibilities and anxious to find out what happens. Do I need him to make a move? No, I am just glad he gave us something to talk about. Before it was speculation for the sake of speculation, now he has thrown a log on the fire and gotten us all talking again. Whether there is validity to his statement or not, the dude is a marketing genius for dropping that on MSP the morning of the lottery. He better have earned some favor in the eyes of David Stern because the lottery was going to go without a single TV in Portland until Tuesday morning. He just made Stern a bunch of money. It is amazing how over night I can change from feeling like a kid in the middle of the school year trying to just make it to summer vacation into feeling like a five year old the week before Christmas. I am pleasently surprised at now how FUN this summer is going to be instead of how, in the words of Simon Cowell, "dreadfully painful" it was going to be.
