What does Trail Blazers alumus Steve Johnson have in common with faculty from over 40 Oregon elementary schools? A newfound appreciation for lotto tickets! Steve joined representatives from the participating elementary schools at the Rose Garden today for Oregon Lottery's "Scratch-It For Schools" event.
Each school was paired with two local celebrities for the challenge. The goal? Scratch as many tickets as possible in five minutes. All winnings from the lottery tickets scratched in that span of time are then donated to the school.
So how'd they do? Steve Johnson and Antonia Crater Elementary won $730, which will go towards their fundraising efforts for a new play structure. In total, nearly $25,000 was raised for the schools. Not a bad haul for five minutes!
