I know it seems like we say this every June, but this NBA draft would appear to not have a lot of franchise players available. It could be an extremely weak one. But if we’ve learned one thing about the draft, it’s this: It’s only fair to wait 2 or 3 years to really judge the talent in a draft, or lack thereof.
So with that being said,
here’s my mock draft. Don’t try this at home, and I’m not responsible for any silly selections I may end up making. Should be pointed out, however, that I did predict the Blazers would end up with Luke Babbitt last year. It took a trade for them to get him, but let’s not quibble with minor details. Let’s see what I can do with this draft, which figures to be even more unpredictable than last year’s.
So there you have it. A mock draft with a lot of guessing and a few hunches. Every team plays a keen game of liar’s poker leading up to the real draft so it’s not easy to try to read between the lines when general managers and the scouts start talking about who they like. Nobody wants to tip their hand, so we all have to do some guessing. Hopefully I’ve guessed right on at least a few of these. Go ahead and leave me your comments/criticisms, and while you're at it,
put together your own mock draft.
