June 17 Trailblazers.com Podcast

With the draft a week away, Dave Deckard, he of Blazersedge.com, and I, Casey Holdahl of trailblazers.com, discuss the scuttlebutt leading up to June 24.

In this week's 'cast, Dave and I look at some of the players the Trail Blazers have brought in for workouts and ponder if anyone available at No. 22 will fill a need next season and beyond. After which, we consider the rumors of the Trail Blazers are looking to move up in the draft, and again, wonder if that the right approach. That conversation rolls into a discussion of "tradeability" and where each player on the roster falls in that spectrum. And of course that leads to more talk on the team making a "blockbuster" trade. Let's speculate!

  1. Am I the only one who worries about Batum playing in Europe and often being injured? I'm not as high on him because of his shoulder.

Batum also has the jerkiest fanbase of all the Blazers. They're downright acerbic towards any player who competes for Batum's playing time or a person that does not hold Batum in the highest reverence. It can be so annoying to me, that I sometimes want Batum traded just to spite them.

  2. I too worry about Batum's potential of injury playing overseas this summer. As I do about Oden getting up off his couch, and Martell Webster jumping with no one around. That's why you've gotta love a guy who doesn't get injured and has already reached his potential and is in the top 10 at his position. That's right I'm talking about...............Andre Miller!!!

  3. Casey do you realize how much you ramble? Just make your point and move on. I want you to succeed and wish you well, but buddy you really need to learn how to edit yourself.
