May 13 Trailblazers.com Podcast

By caseyholdahl Posted in: LaMarcusAldridge, BrandonRoy, AndreMiller, MarcusCamby
As the transition from in-season to off-season continues, so too does the Trailblazers.com Podcast. Dave Deckard, he of the distinguished and world famous Blazersedge.com, and I, Casey Holdahl of this here blog with a somewhat nebulous name that your currently reading, provide for your listening pleasure nearly 60 minutes of Trail Blazers and NBA talks during this week's Trailblazers.com Podcast.

This week, Dave and I tackle the conversation over whether Brandon Roy or Andre Miller was the Trail Blazers MVP this season, discuss if and how Marcus Camby's ability to play power forward gives Portland a new level of roster flexibility, consider the possibility of getting involved in this summer's free agent sweepstakes, give a small pre-draft workout update, ponder Monty Williams' future and I tease out 15 Games Of The Season feature that I'll be posting in the near future. Give it a listen while you bask in the first truly beautiful day of the offseason.

  1. Nice work! Not sure I am in love with the Granger ideas. We could use another big time scorer but not sure it needs to be at the SF position. Nico has that spot locked up till he retires.

  2. If you are drafting early second round for a large wing (mentioned similar situation) look at Terrico White. Big, quick, athletic and can shoot the ball. Scorer mentality.

  3. Hey guys - aww, it was good to hear familiar voices (I missed the last chat and I hadn't listened to one in general in quite awhile) and plus, I'm homesick (been away from home since Aug. '09).

As for the playoffs, I would want the Suns to win of course, but as you and other media are saying, the L*akers size will be too much. It's strange in a way, that thought we gave them a good fight and then SA didn't, that they could challenge the Lakers. If they can just steal one in LA . . . anyways . .

As for us, interesting discussion - I hope we don't trade LMA, unless it's a no-brainer - I mean, we need to have some stability on the roster, at the core at least. I know our window is open and of course, winning now is always the goal, but it seems like to an extent, you have to start over/adjust when a new major addition comes in.

The center issue is interesting - hopefully G.O. will be ready to go and Joel has stuck with this team after he could have left and did so well when Oden was out the previous year, so I would hate to have to push him back in the rotation (3rd string) in favor of Camby, who as you guys said, is on the tail end of his career.

Hey Dave, what's up with the references to B Spears and Andy Roddick's wife? ;-)

    Anyways, thanks guys.
