The news that NBA players own nice cars should come as a surprise to no one. Young men with disposable income tend to spend their money on such things. They can afford it.
In my time around players I've found that the most desired rides tend to be the standard rides of the wealthy. Mercedes, BMW, Range Rover are some of the more common cars owned by players. You'll see a few Cadillacs here and there. The big-timers might own a Maserati or a Maybach. And it's not uncommon to see guys buy cars like Impalas or various American-made trucks and SUVs with the intention transforming an otherwise ordinary car into something extraordinary (or garish depending on your taste in automobiles).
You don't see many guys opt for a Nissan, or really any car out of Japan. But that's how Jeff Pendergraph rolls. His 2010 Nissan GT-R, which he's had retrofit with all kinds of acutramond, was featured in the above video by Driving Sports. The feature with Jeff starts around the 4 minute mark.
I've sat in Jeff's car once, though it wasn't moving. I figure that's about as close as I'll ever get to owning a car like that, though my Toyota does have a spoiler on it.
