VIDEO: Thomas Robinson's Putback Smash

By caseyholdahl

Thomas Robinson has really been coming on for the Trail Blazers in their last two games in Las Vegas. Seems like he's getting more comfortable by the minute with his new teammates, though you don't need to know plays or schemes to hammer down a putback dunk, as Robinson did last night against the Hawks.

  1. 1st, all those around the epicenter of the throw down were shaken to the core & THEN... I think the 12yr-old Dennis Schroeder (I actually like this guy ;) pooped himself when he heard T-Rob's ferocious battle cry!

  2. This is what he needs to focus on though - not necessarily a putback jam but crashing the boards and getting 2nd shots. He took way too many jumpers and stuff during this game. Granted, Summer League is the right setting to try that stuff, but that's not his game. If he focuses on rebounding and playing tough around the rim I think he's going to be a really nice backup PF for us.

  3. Robinson's Worst Case Scenario is JJ Hickson with better defensive effort. The sky's the limit for this kid. I love his rebounds, but the move that really got me excited was his dribble drive baseline for the lay-up. If he can dribble under control and keep defenses honest with his mid-range jumper, watch out.

I'm really hoping we see a lot of LA at the 5 and Robinson at the 4 this year. His energy is going to be hard for Coach Stotts to keep on the bench, in my opinion.
