McCollum No. 3 On Rookie Ladder

By caseyholdahl

With just one Las Vegas Summer League game under his belt, CJ McCollum finds himself at No. 3 on the Rookie Ladder, behind Boston power forward Kelly Olynyk and Orlando guard Victor Oladipo and in front of Philadelphia's Michael Carter-Williams.
McCollum breaks into the Top 10 with his fantastic debut on Saturday. With 15 of his 22 points coming in the first half, the No. 10 overall pick looks like a keeper for the Blazers. Like Damian Lillard did last year, McCollum drew oohs and ahh with several moves, including one particular step-back 3 after crossing up his defender. Will be interesting to see if the Blazers PG can continue his run and make a push for the top rung.
It will also be interesting if Allen Crabbe can make his way onto the Top 10 with a couple solid performances in Las Vegas. He got off to a rough start against the Suns (5 points on 2-of-7 shooting) but there's still plenty of time to get on track, especially if he ends up absorbing Victor Claver's (right thigh contusion) minutes.

  1. Win or lose we need to learn to play the game. When the bigs for the Suns started Blitzing C J we have to learn to make them pay. That will come with time.

In Fact, is certain situations is when you put CJ and Lillard in the game at the same time and that would be one of those times.
