Ford: Blazers Could Take Ledo or Antetokounmpo

By caseyholdahl

A very interesting line item from Chad Ford over at ESPN.com. While answering a question about who the Trail Blazers might take if their preferred players are already off the board at No. 10, Ford throws out two names I've not previously heard as potential targets for Portland ...
Mac (Portland, OR)
Chad, what do you think the Blazers will do if both Caldwell-Pope and McCollum are no longer available? Please tell me they won't select Steven Adams, he's Meyers Leonard 2.0.

I think you have the two guys -- McCollum and Caldwell-Pope right. Both players are high on their board. I agree with you on Adams, though I think Adams is tougher and the Blazers may just need the extra body. This is way out of left field, but I'm not totally discounting a sleeper pick like Antetokounmpo or Ricky Ledo here if McCollum and Caldwell-Pope are both gone.
That would be 6-6 shooting guard Ricky Ledo, who was supposed to play at Providence until being declared academically ineligible (he was allowed to practice with this team), and 18 year-old Greek forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who played last season for Greek second division team Filathlitikos. Neither player is expected to be taken as high as No. 10, but I suppose that's what would make these "sleeper" picks. And there doesn't seem to be any consensus about who the best players are outside of the first six picks.

Ford has been steadfast in his belief that the Trail Blazers are taking either McCollum and Caldwell-Pope, but if those guys aren't available, sounds like Ford thinks it's wide open.

And for what it's worth, I agree with Mac's assessment of Steven Adams.
