Some very high praise for our All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge on today's
"Race To The MVP Ladder" on NBA.com. Not only do they list him at 9th on the MVP Ladder, but they also tab Aldridge as the best power forward in the NBA this season.
The league's premier power forward this season, Aldridge has posted double doubles in eight of his past 10 games and six straight heading into tonight's game against the Rockets in Houston. The Trail Blazers are getting All-Star caliber work from their rookie point guard (Damian Lillard) and Aldridge, who is averaging 21.2 points, 10.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists in his last 10 games. He's been on a rebounding tear since Jan. 1, averaging 10.6 boards a night, well above his career numbers (7.7) to date.
LaMarcus took quite a bit of heat (unjustifiably, in my opinion) at the start of the season, but he bit his tongue and let his play do the talking. And now everyone else is finding out what we here in Portland already knew: Aldridge is one of the best, if not THE best, power forward in the game. It's nice to see the rest of the country is catching on.
