Morrison, Karl, Holiday To Be Waived Saturday

By caseyholdahl Posted in: Blazers, Lakers

After practice on Friday, Coby Karl, Adam Morrison and Justin Holiday were informed by the Trail Blazers that they would be waived Saturday morning. By waiving Karl, Morrison and Holiday, along with assigning Dallas Lauderdale and Demonte Harper to the Idaho Stampede, the Trail Blazers have trimmed their roster down to 15 players, the maximum allowed during the regular season.

Coby Karl played in four of Portland's seven preseason contests, shooting 50 percent from the field (5 of 10), 80 percent from three (4 of 5) while tallying eight assists and 5 rebounds.

Adam Morrison played in five games, shooting 33 percent from the fiend (6 of 18), 27 percent from three (2 of 7) whole grabbing seven rebounds and handing out three assists.

Justin Holiday, a late addition to Portland's preseason roster, played just six combined minutes in two games.

Please join me in wishing all three players best of luck in their future endeavors.

  1. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Coby should have been kept and Nolan traded for a 2nd round pick or cut.

  2. Unless, of course Mr. Olshey, you are TRYING to make the team bad. Which isn't the worst strategy. I mean, you did bring in Ronnie Price when someone like Aaron Brooks was still available. If that's the strategy, I'm on board then.

  3. There is a reason Aaron Brooks is constantly available. Price was the right move.

  4. I have no memory of him being "constantly" available. Phoenix, then Houston, then China during the lockout. There was good reason for him to leave Houston (Lowry, Dragic). On the other hand, I've heard many scouts say that Price really has no business being in the NBA. Never heard that about Brooks.

  5. Ronnie Price is a great mentor and backup point guard. Karl is NBA ready but wouldn't get minutes with Lillard and Price ahead of him. I wish him well. I think this was a financial decision and Nolan is going to have to earn his spot with Barton and Pavlovic possibly taking it away. We have to have 2 guys on the bench that won't get much playing time. Babbit will have to play better than Claver to get in the rotation..realistically we're going to see 8 or 9 guys in the rotation most of the time.

  6. Aaron Brooks is a head case, short fuse, no defense and won't pass. Marbury scored 50 pts on him in the Chinese finals game. I'm glad we didn't take him. I watched his college career in Eugene and he was suspended twice for unsportsmanlike conduct and once refused to enter a game when Adelman was his coach in the thanks!

  7. Ronnie Price backed up Deron Williams in Utah, Steve Nash in Phoenix...Jerry Sloan doesn't play pt guards who don't belong in the NBA period!
