I asked Damian Lillard, while we were waiting for Nicolas Batum to show up at the adidas basketball meet-and-greet a few weeks back, if he knew what shoes he would be wearing this season. He told me he wasn't entirely sure, but that he knew he would be wearing adidas Top Ten's at some point in time. Turns out, that time is now.
In his first official, albeit preseason, game, Lillard took to the court in a the adidas Top Ten 2000's
in a red and black colorway. Lillard had been wearing adidas Rose 773's
through training camp, but I guess he wanted to take it back to the old school, as the kids say these days, for his first NBA game. After finishing the night with 14 points, seven rebounds and five assists to help the Trail Blazers to a 93-75 win, Lillard might want to stick with the Top Ten's until further notice.
The jersey and shoes post has been updated
to reflect Lillard's choice of shoes versus the Lakers, along with JJ Hickson's switch to Nike Hyperdunk's.
