Video: Wesley Matthews Windmills At Milwaukee Pro-Am

By caseyholdahl Posted in: WesleyMatthews

We didn't get to see a whole of of Wesley Matthews on the court during the Las Vegas Summer League, and we certainly didn't get to see him wild out on guys like he does in the above video, shot at the Milwaukee Pro-Am. Wesley took heat last season for what some thought was an inability to finish at the rim, though that doesn't seem to be a problem in this video.

  3. "What some thought was an inability to finish at the rim"

NBA average % at the rim in 2011/12 - 62.7%
NBA SG average at the rim in 2011/12 - 62.9%
Wesley Matthews at the rim in 2011/12 - 49.5%

It was an inability to finish at the thinking required. Accounts for nearly all of the efficiency he lost vs his first year in Portland. Hopefully this season is more like his first two than the last.

  7. I am happy that Wesley is on our team. I see that Wes added some hops to his game. Watch out, he will prove all of the Doubters wrong. I have mad Respect for anyone that is trying to get better. Cant wait till Preseason Start. Go Blazers!!!

  8. It made me sad to c that when all the trade talks/period began to present day, ppl were calling for Wes to b traded bc of last season. I admit, his stats/some of his play weren't that good last season but I knew/know that the kind of player/person he is, he wouldn't/won't let another season like last happen again (unless he is injured & has to fight through injury(ies)). The ONLY time I would call for trading him or another guy is when he's clearly @ or close to the top of his game & that's not good enough OR there's a deal presented that's just too good to pass up (i.e. getting a player in return for Wes that is/will b a bit or much better than Wes/has some other advantage(s) over Wes that REALLY helps our Blazers), otherwise... NEVER give up so soon on Wes or any of OUR other Blazers. I know these guys get paid good $ to put out a good product & we SHOULD expect great things from them but these players r also ppl & I know 1 of the worst things is when ur so passionate & working hard @ something, then some1 (whose opinion matters to u) tells u that ur not; so if it's CLEAR that PEOPLE r giving it their all (i.e. constantly wanting to get better & etc.), SUPPORT them, SUPPORT OUR TEAM. @ Brock, STRONGLY 2nd that sir! :)
