What's In The Bag: Elliot Williams

By caseyholdahl Posted in: ElliotWilliams, whatsinthebag

We here at Trail Blazers HQ are always trying to find ways to give you a small glimpses into what it's like to be a professional basketball player. With that in mind, I present what will the first of what I hope will be a continuing series entitled "In The Bag" in which I show you what a member of the Trail Blazers is toting around. And yes, this is almost a complete ripoff of The Fader's excellent "The Things I Carry" series.

Elliot Williams, despite being ruled out of the Las Vegas Summer League as a precautionary measure, is still working out and practicing with Portland's roster. Being the amiable person that he is, I was able to convince Elliot to let me riffle through his team-issued backpack, which contains pretty standard fare for a professional basketball player: black Nike Kobe VII sneakers, practice outfit (including one pair of shorts, one jersey, two pairs of NBA socks, a pair of Ralph Lauren underwear and a lanyard that allows the aforementioned items to be looped together), a pair of Beats by Dre headphones, an IPhone, an IPod, a black Louis Vuitton wallet and a small horsehair wave brush.

  1. Somebody needs to let him know its not cool to be wearin Kobe sneakers.

  4. Any shot we get a guest appearance at what's inside Kevin Durants backpack? It'd be like opening Pandora's Box. Maybe the cure to bad knees.

  5. Not to change the subject but if the rumor is true that Phil Jackson wants to work for the Blazers I feel Paul Allen should do everything possible to bring his knowledge here. I would hope Jackson and Oshey could be professionals and build a strong team together. This would also show Allen really wants to win. You have to give it a shot!!!

  6. @eaglejohn: Not necessarily true; there is a difference between hiring a name and hiring a president that would be a good teammate. we got a new GM, after PA contacted Phil; It is PA job as the owner to hire a president that can co-exist with Olsey; not necessarily eye to eye, but definitely moving in the same direction.

Phil has a great basket ball mind, Olshey has a great basketball mind, that doesn't mean they can co-exist on the same team; I don't know that they can't, that is PA job.
