Over half of the Portland Trail Blazers roster, thanks mostly to the efforts of Patty Mills, uses Twitter and often times, they use the 140 characters allotted per tweet to converse amongst themselves.

With that in mind, I introduce the first of what I hope will be many posts recounting the life and times of the Trail Blazers on Twitter. All text and photos come directly from the players' Twitter accounts.

First up, a night at the bowling alley with LaMarcus Aldridge (@Aldridge_12), Rudy Fernandez (@Rudy5Fernandez), Marcus Camby (@MarcusCamby23), Patty Mills (@Patty_Mills) and Dante Cunningham (@DLamarC33). Post are listed chronologically.

What? They're like...real people!

I dig seein' this stuff. Sometimes you forget how young these guys are with all the work they gotta' do. I hate sittin' around on four day breaks between games but if it means the coolest group a dudes on the west coast can get in some fun time then I'm all for it.

Crackin' up thinkin' 'bout all twenty feet of LA hidin' from Patty in a paint ball match haha.

Their tweets seriously make my day :) It's just snippets, but yeah, it reminds you these are real people, and that most of them are still pretty young. I am always impressed with the amount of stuff they do together. It adds something special to what we see on the court, that perceived closeness, to know they really are close like that.

it was fun to read that last night and im so with you can picture the big dudes trying to hide from patty. my bets are on patty smoking them in paintball. so glad they are getting some run and some r and r in before a road trip...ty casey for sharing again i love your blogs!

i subscribe to patty's tweets so they all go to my phone, and last night my phone was blowing UPPPP with all these bowling tweets. haha. it was rad. great idea for a blog casey.

Have these players talked to the training staff (who should be fired by the way) about potential injuries while bowling? Also, why wasn't Marcus Camby working on his recover, and why weren't the other players working out at the PF?

Ha, I am just kidding. I was just parroting things I've heard and read about different Blazers and the training staff. I'm glad the players had a chance to get out and have some fun.

a little over two weeks ago, LaMarcus had told his teammates he would never sign up for twitter. two weeks later, he's posting as much as Patty. twitter has been great for fans to see this glimpse into these guys (it's also shown us how good of friends Patty and Rudy have become). i've followed Patty, Nicolas, Dante, Rudy, Marcus, LaMarcus, Elliot and Jeff (ironically, he was the first); and Patty and Dante follow me. it's really been great!

is it be or patty liek the lil bro that tags along and you just kinda want to kick his butt lol, just casey you see abtum rtash talk with him and say hodl on and goes to try and kick patty, theres an old video of batum kickign patty in the butt and nwo LA wants to kick pattys butt, all in good fun.

i LOVE reading this kind of stuff...i wish i had a twitter...anyways, i can SO picture Pattycakes dominating in paintball-i'm as tall as him, so i could too(if i ever played...haha)
