2004-2005 Team Bio

After playing .500 ball through the first two months, injuries to key players sent the team’s fortunes plummeting. Following a three-game winning streak in February, their longest of the season, the Blazers won only seven of their remaining 36 games and finished with the first losing record in 17 years and only the ninth in franchise history. It was the most losses since 1973-74.
Zach Randolph, leading scorer for the season, missed the final 27 games with a knee injury that ultimately required surgery. Key contributers in the early going missed a combined 107 games due to injuries after January 1. On the positive side, Damon Stoudamire turned in his best season as a Blazer, averaging 15.8 points, and converting a club record 133 three-pointers. On Jan. 14, he scored a franchise high 54 points at New Orleans while matching the team record for field goals (20) and points in a half (30). Joel Przybilla had a breakout season, scoring more points (488) than he did in his previous five years in the league (314).
With the team out of the playoffs for the second straight year and only the ninth time in team history, Kevin Pritchard, director of player personnel, became interim head coach on March 4, replacing Maurice Cheeks.
Damon Stoudamire ranked 4th in the NBA in free throw percentage (.914), a new Trail Blazers season high. Ruben Patterson was 6th in field goal percentage (.531). Theo Ratliff (2.51 per game) and Joel Przybilla (2.14) were fourth and seventh respectively in blocked shots.
