Trail Blazers: Single Game Tickets Go On Sale October 1 At Noon
"Individual tickets for the Trail Blazers’ 2012-13 season, which tips-off Oct. 31 against the Los Angeles Lakers, go on sale to the general public at noon on Monday, Oct. 1, exclusively on Tickets at additional outlets, including the Rose Quarter box office, go on sale at 2 p.m. on Oct. 1."

Trail Blazers: Steve Kerr: 'They've got to throw Lillard right on the court'
"He's one of the best players in the league. I think LaMarcus goes a little under the radar sometimes behind guys like Kevin Love and Blake Griffin. But Aldridge is terrific. He's a legitimate low post threat … He's got everything."

Trail Blazers: Sneak Preview: Trail Blazers New, Alternate Red Jersey
"In case you haven't heard, the Trail Blazers are getting a new alternative, red uniform for the 2012-13 season. While the finished product won't be revealed until Media Day, which falls on October 1st this year, here's a glimpse of what's in store. These brand new jerseys will debut on Halloween Night against the Lakers inside the Rose Garden! Does it get any better than that? And not to be forgotten, if you're going to be in attendance that night, make sure to #WearRed."

Oregon Live: Trail Blazers will open training camp with J.J. Hickson starting at center
"J.J. is the incumbent," Stotts said. "I'm not saying he's going to be the starting center opening night. We'll have to see how training camp goes, see how the preseason goes, and then we'll make that determination. Meyers (Leonard) has played very well (this summer). But it's just like politics: J.J. has been here, he's the returner, so going into it he has the advantage."

CSNNW: Luke Babbitt to have fun in midst of contract uncertainty
“He wants guys to create space for LaMarcus. You need shooters around him so teams won't pack it in. That's my role: To space the floor and help out offensively.”

Blazersedge: The Greatest Comeback In Trail Blazers History
"Many folks, including everybody in the state of Oregon, anticipated a clinching victory for the Blazers at home in Game 6. Erving made that difficult with 40 points. McGinnis added 28. Down 108-100 with 2:30 left, Philly put on a majestic run and climbed within 2 points, 109-107. The clock neared zero. The Sixers had the ball for the final possession. But McGinnis missed a 15-footer and Walton grabbed his 23rd and final rebound of the contest, firing it out to teammate Johnny Davis who threw the ball in the air as the clock expired. After being down 0-2 and left for dead, labeled pretenders against a travelling All-Star squad, the 1977 Portland Trail Blazers were Champions of the World."

Blazersedge via Lakers: Lakers C Dwight Howard Could Be Available For Blazers' Season Opener?
"Howard dropped in a high percentage of his patented baby hooks with either hand, spinning either to the baseline or the middle depending on Ham's defense, and showed his quick first step getting to the hoop when Ham closed out."

Ball Don't Lie: Brook Lopez has his fro shaved down at a local Boys & Girls Club (VIDEO)
"Brook Lopez, efficiency enthusiast, decided to take care of three birds with one stone on Tuesday, as he sat in the chair at the Navy Yards Boys & Girls Club, as some local kids strapped a two-guard on to trim down Brook's summer fro."

Ball Don't Lie: Chris Bosh ‘thought it was over’ for Heat after suffering abdominal injury against Pacers
"Bosh isn't this team's go-to guy, as he was in Toronto during the days of routinely dropping over 25 points per game. What he does is sop up minutes; he could spend an entire evening nailing jumper after jumper against a collapsing defense, or rolling to the hoop for a series of throwdowns in the face of some ill-strategized double-teaming. Or, he could shoot just six times in one night while LeBron or D-Wade take to their respective mismatchs. He's a distinct Number Three, ready to fill in."

Ball Don't Lie: Danny Ainge, twice, calls Rajon Rondo the best player on the Boston Celtics
"Or, perhaps, Ainge expects Rondo to step in and act like it's the playoffs in November. To maybe think twice before giving up on that runner in the lane for a dish to the corner. Ainge is an ex-player, and ex-coach, so a set of expectations put down on record (under that "I really like him, he's the best"-smokescreen) wouldn't be an odd move for a guy with Ainge's history. And, to the Celtics' benefit, merely getting to enjoy a "who's the best player on the team?" argument between Rajon Rondo and Kevin Garnett is a pretty nice luxury."

Ball Don't Lie via AZ Central: Clyde Drexler thinks the rebuilding Phoenix Suns are due for ‘the fourth or fifth playoff spot’)
"What?!" Drexler said with slightly less shock than when Jake O'Donnell ejected him for protesting a second-quarter foul in a 1995 playoff game at Phoenix. "Are you kidding me? If they don't get the fourth or fifth playoff spot, I'm not standing before you. They're big. They're athletic. They know how to play."

Ball Don't Lie: Pacers coach Frank Vogel is pretty sure Gerald Green is an alien or robot
"The issue, of course, is that there's never been any question about Green's ability to perform ridiculous feats of athleticism on a basketball court — we've known about his explosiveness, his vertical leap, his speed and agility ever since the Boston Celtics selected him with the 18th overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft. What we've been waiting to see for the past seven-plus years is evidence that Green can take those superhuman talents and deploy them in the service of tasks that are very possible for a human being to do — like moving your feet on the perimeter, helping your bigs out on the boards and making determined cuts without the ball to help an offense flow better in half-court sets. Even his career-saving 31-game turn with the Nets last season didn't necessarily show a ton of that; that was predicated largely on stroking the 3-pointer (39.1 percent from deep, although taking more than five long balls per 36 minutes of floor time seems a bit high for an ancillary offensive option), career-high conversion rates on opportunities close to the basket (70.7 percent at the rim and 64.3 percent from between three and nine feet out, according to Hoopdata's shot location statistics) and the occasional highlight-reel play that got our attention."

Ball Don't Lie: Brooklyn Nets reveal their dancers’ uniforms, which are very different
"The new Brooklyn incarnation of the Nets has shown no fear of bold stylistic choices. In just a few months, we've seen black-heavy logos and uniforms designed by part-owner Jay-Z and a herringbone-patterned home floor. If nothing else, the Nets will look unique next season. Only time will tell if they manage to win enough games to stay competitive with the elite teams in the East."

Ball Don't Lie via Deep Sixer: Dorell Wright thinks new teammate Andrew Bynum is better than Dwight Howard
"He's going to need two defenders to stop him; I would say he's the best big man in the NBA right now, hands down," Wright, speaking at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, said. "He's a guy that can give you baskets with his back to the basket; a guy who makes free throws at 7-feet. You've just got to respect him."

The Basketball Jones: Rajon Rondo just wants everyone to have a good time
"Haha. “Man, I had a good time with Rondo.” Great, great quote. I wonder if anyone has ever actually said that, but even if they haven’t, I think we’re all going to start saying it now whenever Rondo does something weird. Bounces the ball of his head to start a game? Man, I had a good time with Rondo. Passes up an easy shot for a behind-the-back pass? Man, I had a good time with Rondo. Gets in a fight with an opponent? Man, I had a good time with Rondo. You get it. It works."

The Basketball Jones: Kevin Durant has a red panda named after him
"I am not exactly sure where on the list of career triumphs having one of the cutest animals in all of nature named after you falls, but I’d imagine it’s pretty high. Just guessing, I’d put it behind a statue but significantly ahead of some family naming their child after a player and the player never knowing about it. How many NBA players do you know with zoo animals named after them? Probably not very many. And how many of those very few are animals that everyone sees and goes “Holy smokes, that thing is cute whatever it is?” Even less, I am guessing."

The Basketball Jones: Brad Beal wants to be Batman, Wizards still got it
"YES. The spirit of the Wizards is still alive and well. Just when you think they’re done providing us with jokes and laughs the likes of which have never been seen, a rookie comes in and says he’d change his name to Batman (Brad “Batman” Beal is a great nickname, by the way). A rookie! This is great, great news."

DIME: Air Jordan 9 “Johnny Kilroy”
"The vitals: The black/metallic platinum gym red colorway will retail for $160. Nikeblog has tracked the release of the Johnny Kilroy edition since the first bits of info leaked out onto the official Twitter account, @TheRealKilroy4, with snapshots of the original campaign that imagined what basketball would be like if Michael Jordan came back in disguise out of his first retirement to play in Chicago as No. 4, Johnny Kilroy."

SLAM via Commercial Appeal Darrell Arthur Fractured His Leg
“Griz forward Darrell Arthur suffers leg fracture in pickup game. Won’t be ready for start of camp.”

SLAM via CBS: Kendrick Perkins Likely to Miss Training Camp and Preseason
“After having two offseason surgeries, one on his wrist and one on his groin, Kendrick Perkins likely will miss all of the Thunder’s training camp and preseason games. ‘What we’re trying to do is have him ready for the first game of the regular season,’ said Thunder general manager Sam Presti. ‘His conditioning, his fitness levels — he’s done a fantastic job. His wrist is the thing we have to be very cautious with, and we will be.’"

ESPN: Kevin Love likes new-look Wolves
"We've definitely added value to this team," Love said. "I think the locker room is really going to be great and I think the players we have on this team can make an immediate impact."

    ESPN: OKC Thunder: 2012-13 roster
"Defensively, Durant is getting better but he's still a pretty neutral player at this end. Synergy Stats graded him fairly well but the Thunder gave up more points per possession when he was on the court. Partly that was because he played more as a smallball 4, which isn't a stretch for him height-wise but forces him into some tough physical battles."

Sports Illustrated: Top storylines to watch in 2012-13
"It's not Raymond Felton's fault that the Knicks acted as if they were hiding a time machine somewhere deep inside Madison Square Garden. They opted for a reunion with Felton over the return of Jeremy Lin, and that's their prerogative. But the millions of Lin fans who wish the Knicks would have matched Houston's three-year, $25.1 million offer will be all over Felton and New York's front office if the 28-year-old point guard doesn't recapture his form from 2010-11, when he had a strong 54-game run with the Knicks before being sent to Denver in the Carmelo Anthony trade."

Trail Blazers: Weekend Plan: Specially Designed For Families And The Busy Nine-To-Fiver
"Built for the family-oriented fan with a busy work-week, the 12-game Weekend Pack maximizes the thrill-factor while keeping the competitions to Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A smattering of Western Conference rivals and Eastern Conference visitors during one-offs and key home stands, you can get your hands on this schedule-friendly pack for as low as $11/game and $52/game in the lower bowl."

Trail Blazers: The Rivals Plan: Two LAs, Oklahoma City And The Return Of Roy
"The smallest of the four big ticket plans, the eight game Rivals Pack packs a big punch. You’ll be in the building and eating a corndog while others are wondering how to get their hands on a way to see the return of Brandon Roy and the sure to sell out L.A. Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder."

Trail Blazers: Why The Value Plan Makes 'Cents' For You
"The Value Pack starts at just $5 a game. That’s 12 games for as low as $60! Talk about some serious bang for your buck. But that’s not even the best part about this ticket plan. Four of the 12 games take place in the month of January. And there is absolutely no better place to be during an Oregon winter’s night than inside the raucous Rose Garden. Not to mention this pack gets you into the arena to see some of the league’s biggest names and brightest young stars such as Dwight Howard, Dirk Nowitzki, Kyrie Irving, John Wall, and Rudy Gay."

Trail Blazers: Big Games Plan: 12 Of The Biggest Games
"This game has it all. Season opener, at home, against the loathe-inducing Lakers, in Steve Nash's first game in purple and gold and it's on Halloween night! Any game against the Lakers at the Rose Garden is going to be a lively one, but the confluence of circumstances in this particular game sets the stage for one of the all-time season openers in Trail Blazers history."
