Trail Blazers: 2012 Mock Draft Database
"The IAmATrailBlazersFan.Com NBA Mock Draft Database is a listing of links to mock drafts from around the web. Shown below are the mocked first three picks as well as Portland's picks at #6 and #11. This listing will be updated on a daily basis."

Sports Illustrated: Trail Blazers' search for new general manager to heat up soon/span>
"I'm flattered that Portland asked for permission, but right now I'm focused on the playoffs and focused on our team," Morway said."

Sacramento Bee: Leading Off: If Trail Blazers call, Petrie should listen
" Petrie, the Kings' hoops boss years before the Maloofs arrived, was the architect who assembled "The Greatest Show on Court" – the 2000-01 Kings of Jason Williams (1998 first-round draft pick), Chris Webber (trade), Vlade Divac (free agent), Doug Christie (trade) and Peja Stojakovic ('96 first-round draft pick). Petrie hired Rick Adelman and brought in his old Princeton coach and mentor, Pete Carril. The executive later traded J-Will for Mike Bibby, making an exciting Kings team into a championship contender. He was twice named the NBA Executive of the Year."

Trail Blazers: Oregonian’s ‘You Be The GM’ Evaluates C. Smith, Flynn and Przybilla
“There's no question Przybilla's best years are behind him, so he should not be your starting center. But his experience and willingness to do the little things -- set screens, block shots, etc. -- make him a valuable role player. And most important is his presence in the locker room. Early in the season, the Blazers were desperate for someone to take ownership of a season that was slipping away and call out teammates who were splintering the locker room. If Przybilla had been around for an entire season, he may have been the person to do just that. I expect Przybilla to be in a Blazers uniform next season.”

Trail Blazers: Rice's 2011-12 Season Awards Ballot
"Below are Trail Blazers television analyst Mike Rice's picks for All NBA and the rest of the 2011-12 NBA awards. Rice is the only Trail Blazers broadcaster or employee who has a vote."

Oregon Live: You be the Blazers GM: J.J. Hickson
“He’s so active,” Aldridge told The Oregonian's Joe Freeman. “I’ve always wanted to play with somebody that was like a Lou Amundson or a Reggie Evans; somebody that’s active, that’s always keeping guys on their toes. And I think he’s been big late in games, when teams have been keying on me. He’s been getting easy buckets and he’s been coming through for us.”

CSNNW: Source: Portland requested to speak with Indiana's GM David Morway
"Considered as Larry Bird's right-hand man, Morway was promoted to GM in May of 2008 by Bird – who is the Pacers' President of Basketball Operations – after serving as the team's Senior Vice President of Basketball Administration."

Blazersedge: The REAL New York Question: Would You Accept Carmelo Anthony on the Portland Trail Blazers?
"The good news for Portland is that, since Nicolas Batum is the linchpin here and since the Blazers would be re-signing him themselves to make this deal work, they could spend the rest of their available cap space this summer before consummating the trade, meaning Anthony isn't the only player they could pick up. The Blazers could look at other point guards or centers before taking on 'Melo at the end. But you'd better make sure you hit with the signing or signings you make before the Anthony deal, because you're not shuffling players easily after taking on his enormous salary."

NBA: I wish the Blazers would just give their general manager's job to Chad Buchanan
"The Blazers' collapse this season no doubt reflects poorly on Buchanan; Portland gambled and lost in trading Andre Miller for Ray Felton, and the team was rocked when Brandon Roy retired and Greg Oden suffered one last knee setback that led to his release. But those injuries weren't Buchanan's fault, and he was able to engineer the deal that got Portland a potential top-three pick in the 2012 Draft from New Jersey for Gerald Wallace. Nobody's a harder-working bird dog than Buchanan, and Portland is in need of front office stability, not another new face that has to prove himself to Allen and his people."

CSNNW: McMillan not opposed to coaching a team like the Charlotte Bobcats
“Not necessarily,” McMillan explained to “The plan in Portland, when I got there was to rebuild and we were lucky to draft some really good players. Injuries just put a damper on things. Coaching is coaching. It would be a new beginning for me. Young team or a veteran team....If you're saying, 'I'm just looking for a veteran team,' that's not true. Depends on the opportunity. It takes two to agree to a deal and we'll see whenever that happens. I won't just take anything, it will depend on the situation.”

Oregon Live: NBA High-5: Lakers control tempo against Denver, but can they control their future as contenders?
"The Lakers, if they are to make the Finals, will probably have to get past the Nos. 3 and 2 highest-scoring teams -- the Thunder (103.1) in the next round, and the Spurs (103.7) in the Western Conference Finals. The Thunder series, of course, would see Metta World Peace return from his suspension for elbowing James Harden, and the boos he gets in OKC will make the boos Bryant has been getting in Denver seem like light applause. Time doesn't seem to be on L.A.'s side. The Lakers have an enormous payroll at $85.8 million, and still have $83.1 million in salary commitments for next season. They have a $16 million team option for Bynum for 2012-13, and you wonder if team officials are tempted to not exercise it -- or if Bynum isn't trying to goad them into it."

Ball Don't Lie: Allen Iverson’s infamous ‘practice’ rant, 10 years later
"Ostensibly, Iverson's frustrations were taken out on longtime Philadelphia Daily News beat writer Phil Jasner, who was following up on coach Brown's specific criticism of both Iverson's practice habits and refusal to participate in some practices as he worked through the myriad injuries resultant from the combination of his aggressive play and wispy frame. And though Iverson took great delight in singling out Jasner (calling him "Phillip" repeatedly, in a typical bully move), his real anger was directed at Brown, clearly, and what he apparently thought was an anachronistic ideal that drew a direct line between all out play in practice, and success on the court in games that mattered in the win/loss column."

Ball Don't Lie: Al Jefferson can’t see anyone beating the Spurs, says so before Jazz-Spurs Game 4
"On the plus side for Jazz fans, not everyone is preparing for San Antonio's victory parade — coach Tyrone Corbin and second-year swingman Gordon Hayward say they're not ready to give up. It's also possible that Jefferson was just playing mind games, trying to lull the Spurs into a false sense of security by making them feel invincible next to the puny, putrid Jazz, and then all of a sudden HE STRIKES WITH A SERIES OF JAB STEPS!"

Ball Don't Lie: Finally, a Brooklyn Nets logo haircut for us all to get
"The adidas logo atop the badge — while not part of the official Nets insignia — is a nice touch that shows sharp knowledge of the Nets' branding and partnership agreements, what with the shoe company both producing the team's jerseys and sponsoring the new team store at the Barclay Center. Savvy synergy, Snipes."

Ball Don't Lie: Fan walks on court during Nuggets/Lakers game, allegedly looking for a player that isn’t on either team (VIDEO)
"In a strange scene toward the end of the first half of Sunday's Los Angeles Lakers Game 4 win over the Denver Nuggets, a misguided attendee decided to waltz onto the court just before halftime. According to local police and the Denver Post and Yahoo! Sports, 20-year-old Savannah McMillan-Christmas was immediately arrested for trespassing, released and will appear in court Monday. The woman, who nearly made it to the 3-point line from her courtside seat, apparently has some alleged history with the Denver Nuggets before."

Ball Don't Lie: Carlos Boozer throws ‘as bad a pass as you will see by a pro’ (VIDEO)
"That quote in the headline is how ESPN/ABC play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico described this pass thrown by Carlos Boozer during the second quarter of Game 4 between the Chicago Bulls and Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday afternoon, an extraordinarily errant air mail captured by our friends at the Yahoo! Sports Minute. Hubie Brown, Tirico's partner on the broadcast, had a more succinct, visceral description: "OHHHHHH, my!""

DIME: Humble & Hungry: Dime’s 2012 NBA Draft Diary With Dion Waiters, Week 2
"Right now, I have different days, and different times that I workout. Sometimes I will work out at 9 a.m., so I’ll get breakfast at around 8, 8:15 and then try to get to the gym 30 or 35 minutes early so I can get a good stretch in. I’ll work out for about an hour and a half. Then, I’ll go upstairs and lift for about 45 minutes. From there, we’ll get a break. But sometimes we’ll come back at 3 or 4 p.m. and it depends on how everybody feels whether we’ll play two-on-two or three-on-three or one-on-one. Sometimes we’ll also just workout. And this is all on an everyday basis so you are really getting three workouts in. If you really feel like you need another one, you can go back at 9:30 or 10 p.m."

SLAM: Post Up: On The Brink
"As much as the Knicks’ fanbase can and will rightfully celebrate the playoff win, it’ll also lament the loss of starting point guard Baron Davis, who went down in the third quarter with a dislocated right patella. Without Davis, the Knicks turned to Bibby, who was surprisingly solid, and JR Smith, who shot 3-15 and was, ya know, not so solid. Elsewhere, Amar’e Stoudemire returned, and was impressively effective, racking up 20 and 10. Davis will almost definitely miss the remainder of the series, which’ll fuel talk of the return of a certain New York point guard who’s been sidelined for the past month following knee surgery. At this point, given the late-March injury that kept Jeremy Lin off the floor and out of the news for the past month, Linsanity feels like an isolated incident, a tornado that stormed through Manhattan and left rubble in the form of replica jerseys and bootleg t-shirts."

SLAM via Dallas Morning News: Dirk Nowitzki Wants Other Superstars to Join Him in Dallas
"But listening to Nowitzki’s comments following Saturday’s season-ending loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, the franchise’s greatest player is hoping for superstars. “We need some guys that can make plays for themselves,” Nowitzki said. “That’s pretty obvious. If you look at all the top teams now, they have at least two-three guys they can throw the ball to and they do their thing.” Nowitzki then specifically mentioned how Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden each carried a Thunder team on different nights in the four-game sweep of the Mavericks. “If you want to be an elite team in the league right now, you have to have 2-3 guys that can go off at any time,” Nowitzki added."

    ESPN: Biggest disappointment so far?
"The injuries, no question. Now before we all pretend to be doctors, let's not jump to conclusions that the slew of injuries is a product of the 66-game schedule; we can't prove it either way. What we can prove is that no one wants to see a playoffs with Derrick Rose, Dwight Howard, Paul Pierce, Josh Smith, Ray Allen, Kendrick Perkins, Joakim Noah, Baron Davis and Iman Shumpert all limited or sidelined with ailments. Injuries are a normal consequence of contact sports, but it doesn't make it any less deflating."
